I think a lot of this sounds the same but it’s a way better sound than their first album and I’m digging it.
I don’t think any of it necessarily sounds the same, but I hear a lot of sonic parallels between some of the songs.
I was never super into Greatest Hits, just never listened to it all that much. I found this record pretty fun, I had it spinning the past couple days with the windows down in my car. Solid record for that.
Very very bummed I won’t be at the show tonight. I met my current partner the last time I saw them, so you could say it was a special night. I’d love to bounce around and get sweaty now that I know the words to the new tracks.
The little ending riff of Halos has been stuck in my head all weekend. I love how aggressive it sounds, but then works when he starts singing on top it again. The whole album rocks.
Its not a bad record, but its kind of boring. I wasn't huge into Greatest Hits. I love Around The Sun though so I had high hopes for this.
Didn't check this out until like 3 days ago and it's been on repeat since then. Halos and mirror are my top picks but I'm really enjoying the whole thing.
This has been slowly growing on me. Not hitting me as strong as Greatest Hits when I discovered it a year ago. The vinyl just arrived in the mail today.
New song and new ep coming Remo Drive share song off new EP, touring with Samia Really dig this. I find this alvum and direction a lot more interesting than the first album honestly. Does The Truth give anyone else Sunny Day Real Estate vibes or am I crazy?
Not entirely sold on the vocals, idk if it’s the range or tonality or what, but instrumentally it’s really cool. The guitars are beautiful. I do respect them for continually trying new things and variations of their sound. N,ED continues to be an album I wish more people were paying attention to. It’s not a top 10 album of the year, but it’s very solid work, and The Grind, Ezra + Marla, Halos, and Around The Sun absolutely are some of my favorite tracks of 2019.
I like Romeo, chrous has been stuck in my head non stop. Like the album version of Separate Beds better than the alt one though.
Saw them for the second time last night and they were very very good! The crowd wasn't huge, but it was enthusiastic and engaged. I really wish this record got more recognition for being as great as it is!
This has to be my biggest disappointment of the year tbh. When I've tried to go back to it I can't get through more than a couple of songs before turning it off. Shame too because I've adored everything they've done up to this point.
I don't think you're alone in that, unfortunately. Personally, I think this blows Greatest Hits out of the water and is easily one of the best releases in the genre this year. I like GH a lot, but this album feels like the band hitting their stride and is so much more interesting to me than a lot of the previous stuff.
Yea I was underwhelmed with the new album, didn't have the same impact as GH. But I still look forward with what they put out next.
