"Love is beautiful and true Life is beautiful and new" is one of the worst thiessen lyrics in their discography
You were at my favorite bar Your hoodie's in my car The smell of your Chanel 5 won't die hard takes the cake for me
Anyone know what songs Dave plays drums on for Air For Free? So cool that they brought him back to play. I always loved his playing style and the drum production on Anatomy through Five Score is top notch. (FANSD and AFF too, just not quite as much.)
“Lost Boy” fits into the proper RK canon, IMO. Very much has the feel & sound that the album should have gone for over “Boomerang,” “Can’t Complain,” and “PTL.” AFF ranks high up there with me as well. “Marigold” and “Runnin’” alone make me happy that album was released. Although, “Man” and “Mountaintop” have great structure and are unique without dipping further back into CL territory.
What's everybody's favourite track on Air for Free? Just listened to it trying to pick one out and I'm having a tough time It's definitely either Bummin', Mountaintop, Elephant Parade, God or Heartache. All some all time best RK tunes
Ahh, forgot to mention Empty House. Definitely an awesome song and very interesting for them to do but I'd say it probably doesn't crack my top 5. Great choice regardless though
Empty House, Air For Free, Man, Heartache Elephant Parade gets honorable mention just because it is so different from most of their songs
I have been revisiting these guys in reverse order almost, and I am having such a blast. Just getting hit in the face with all of the reasons I luv this band, some of them very nostalgic and flooding me with memories of good times past. But I really do love this band; especially everything after Mmhmm. Spending a bit of time with Air for Free today, I am happy to read some more of Matt's lyrics from that record and really ~listen to these guys again. I think, despite the fact that I like it and think it's great , ignoring Collapsible Lung and maybe some of the earlier really straight up pop punk albums... these guys have really hit their stride
