Yes I have a few MP3s from way back of his first solo songs. Hope it continues a similar vibe. Poison Ivy... still listen to that one!
Oh I know, I've had the Earthquakes stuff since it first came out, I just meant that he's going with that name for this upcoming solo record.
I try my best!! I have 7 Matthew Thiessen & The Earthquakes songs: The Thief I Hate Christmas Parties Poison Ivy The Warmth Of The Sun (Brian Wilson cover) Faking My Own Suicide Lebron, Top Of The World The Calendar, The Energy
I'm outta the loop. Is it official that Matt gonna release a solo album this year? I remember seeing that post with him and Darren working on stuff.
He has tweeted that he hopes to release it before summer. He created and Earthquakes twitter account and has been playing shows. He definitely recorded it and paid Darren King to produce it. I’m very excited and hope he’s right about it coming out soon. Would be a great spring / summer album I’m sure.
The last episode of the Labeled Podcast is basically a long chat with Ethan Luck about his career. Not a lot of mention about RK, but apparently things didn't end well? Episodes
From what I recall, he didn’t like the direction of Collapsible Lung and the limited touring the band was doing during that time. RK was his main source of income so inactivity and lack of touring impacted him a lot.
Is that what he says in the Labeled episode? Interested in what he does say about it, if anyone cares to post a paraphrase of his thoughts on it.
He really didn’t say. He said it ended kind of bad and he took the Cold War Kids teching job after to just forget the experience.
