I mean it's very easily the best song on a mediocre album. JAP is the only song that comes close honestly.

I'm pretty eh about Pink Tux. It's pretty middle of the pack for me. I Am Understood and Jefferson are my two favorites on the album. Chapstick is great too.

Above is now the final score. On to round 4! Relient K-Two Lefts Don't Make A Right, But Three Do FACEOFF ---------------------------------------- Round 4 I Am Understood? vs Jefferson Aero Plane Go!
Jefferson Aero Plane crazy to me that IAU made it this far, it's one of the worst tracks on the album imo
I think it's a great song. Well, both are great. But in defense of IAU, it's pretty catchy and has a great ending. It was super relevant to me after I went to church camp and became a Christian. How much I still cling to that is an incredibly complex and long story. But the song is still effective.
Yeah my relationship with relient k is a little weird now that I'm no longer a Christian, but such is life.
Also, to the post-Christians, Christians, in betweeners, whateverers, something that I've appreciated recently is the Reconstruct podcast hosted by Dan Koch (from Sherwood) and John Raines (from Pacific Gold). They talk about reconstructing their faith and beliefs over time, interview interesting religious/non-religious people, etc. It's mostly just good dialogue surrounding something that often lacks good dialogue. Check it out if you're interested.
I'm going to go I Am Understood? Mainly for the nostalgia vibes but perfectly understand the criticisms. It is very interesting listening to more overtly 'Christian themed' songs when your faith has changed and evolved (and disappeared in some people's perspectives). Glad 'good' is always subjective and we can talk discuss it (and vote about it in this case, ha). What would be really interesting is hearing what the Matts think about some of these older songs. I know they've grown, changed, lost faith, found faith and everything in between over the years.
