How's the tour been. I've been deciding whether I want to hit it up or not. $40 a ticket is a little steep right now. I saw Jefferson Aeroplane on the set lousy though which may have pushed me over the edge.
I went last week and it was great. Last time I saw Rk was the tour for CL it was a only Tom on drums and another guy on bass so limited Thiessen's piano playing since he had to do more guitar parts. Since this one is a 5 piece, I feel like it made the show better. Setlist was great in my opinion besides Air For Free. Bite My Tongue being played made me so happy. Switchfoot was also fantastic. This was my third time seeing them and it was their best show they've done.
I'd go see the tour, but the date in my city is pretty close to the date near me for the Kevin Devine & the Goddamn Band, Julien Baker and Pinegrove tour.
So, they played Deathbed at the Madison show. God, I hope they do that in Columbus next week. Still debating on leaving after the RK set, either way.
Even if you don't like Switchfoot, they're pretty good live. I took a friend who doesn't really like them to see them when I did and he said they were one of the best live bands he's seen.
I saw them a long time ago... maybe when "Meant to Live" came out? It was a terrible show. Idk if they weren't as experienced or something back then, but it was really bad. I've never been a huge fan of theirs, though. I think I only know two or three of the songs on their setlist. *shrug*
They've probably improved. I saw them on their Fading West tour (early 2014 I believe) and they were great. Their albums are very hit or miss though, so I get not liking them. Also, that post makes me miss Absolutepunk's shrug emoticon. haha
Haha they had realeased 3 albums prior to The Beautiful Letdown so they had plenty of experience. I saw them twice when they were touring for that album and both shows were fantastic. That said, I remember an illness happening in the band during the tour and some people complaining about the show also.
If I absolutely love the song "Forget and Not Slow Down", what other bands / albums / songs should I check out?
So apparently they are releasing a new Halloween EP tomorrow with new songs. Creepier Epier. The happiest Halloween of all!
