I love this band, and I really love Air for Free. However, for personal reasons, Collapsible Lung is my favorite album, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
Well done for admitting that - I have not heard anyone say that, even the people that like the record. What personal reasons, if you don't mind me asking?
I have a son with autism who has a significant speech delay. When I play CL he sings with many of the songs. He even sings Lost Boy and Can't Complain when the record isn't playing. It's like when Relient K is playing it calms him. I listened to the RK Christmas album from September to almost March because he asked for "Christmas music." If I played anything other than RK it would upset him. When I put on RK, he rode to school and back as quiet as can be. Some other songs that have done this are: Paramore - Ain't It Fun One Republic - I Lived Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud Chase Holfelder's version of Exes and Ohs (Don't judge me haha) No other artist to the degree of RK though. It's just made this band very special to me.
This is probably the best thing I've read since signing up for the Chorus community. Absolutely wonderful - thanks for sharing something so personal. I love that he can connect with those songs! (For the record, I like a few songs but it's nowhere near my favourite.)
Thats the great part of music. We all find joy in different things and can share our joy with others. CL definitely isn't their best record, but it means more to me musically than any other album they have put out (except that Christmas album...He really really loves that Christmas record too haha)
I'm gonna guess either their vinyl is fixed, or lyrics are going to be made available. Can't really think of anything else it could be. Haha
I guess it could be another singles series or vinyl pressing too. I know they said Look On Up would make it to vinyl, and that Nashville Tennis EP was going to be pressed sometime.
I am going to swing for the fences: Dave is officially back. :D EDIT: also, sort of basing this on the fact Dave is shown in the background of the photo. Probably nothing, but I could see him joining since he's on the full tour.
Haha looks like it was the music video for "Mountain Top" that apparently got posted early last week.
I didn't even realize the video was ever removed... It was posted to YouTube, Twitter and Facebook. So much for that news. haha
Here's a playlist with both Relient k and Switchfoot sets that I found thanks to the Rk reddit and setlist.fm. Enjoy
