Finally got a good C/D side Five Score disc. haha Deathbed still isn't totally clear, but it's not unlistenable like the last 3 discs (and Collapsible Lung ) were.
I'm anxiously waiting for Air For Free CD's to be available for pre-order. Really hope they make it to Amazon. Haha I'm too poor for that vinyl, and don't want to use iTunes.
Reliant K's going on tour with Switchfoot this fall. I saw that bill a while back in college. Super awesome show.
Man on that tour they're going to all the cities in Texas except Houston.. I'm not that into Switchfoot, but I've never seen them live. Them two together seems like a fun show
Ordering a CD from Amazon is the perfect middle ground. Often the same price as digital (or cheaper!) with the added bonus of a tangible product, plus the boost in quality from the original disc.
Yeah, with Amazon Prime I'm pretty safe with pricing and stuff. I've been pre-ordering everything through Amazon because I was given giftcards on my birthday, and am currently unemployed because of health problems. It's really nice, and if they miss the release day delivery, they give you free stuff. haha
I know it's annoying when people say this but that is middle school/high school me's dream show. Now SF is coming off a coupl albums that I dislike and Relient K has to earn back my trust with their new one so I probably won't use my money on it.
Reading the description from Jon Foreman regarding the new Switchfoot album has me more excited for their work since the early days. I've not checked out any of their recent albums but I'm tempted. I'm also hoping the new Relient K album is a return to form.
I mean here's hoping. Have you actually heard any of the new Switchfoot songs though? One of them is pretty good but the other is the most generic thing I've ever heard.
Switchfoot is excellent live. I credit seeing them live on the Fading West tour with giving me a greater appreciation for the Fading West album. The fan environment was maybe my favorite I've seen at any show too. There was so much joy and togetherness.
Float - I only listened to it once but it was nice to hear them go in a new direction that actually largely works for once. Live It Well is bad even for Christian radio standards.
Ah, that's a real shame. I hadn't listen to the new ones. I thought what I read from Jon Foreman would lend itself to some really cool experimental, contemplative, moody music. Alas!
I love the last few Switchfoot records but if you are more of a fan of their older stuff (which is crazy because their new stuff is great) then it may make you happy to know that this is their first record back with John Fields as a producer since Oh Gravity. He worked with them on The Beautiful Letdown.
Not to turn this thread into the Switchfoot one, but I think the new album will be good. Float is excellent, and while a little generic, I don't think Live it Well is bad. It's a song that's easy to relate to, and I think I need an album with songs like Live it Well right now. Also, Switchfoot live is really good. I took a friend who doesn't really like Switchfoot with me when I saw them, and he was very impressed by their performance still.
I repeat myself a lot but I just want to say again, the production on both of Switchfoot's new songs is outstanding and listening to "Live it Well" on high volume in the car really made me change my mind about the song.
