I really hope so. While I like Bummin', I really want to hear what other stuff they're gonna do on this album.
E-mailed 'em, said they'd try one more record. Said they didn't want it shipped back and they'd refund me, and to just make bowls or something out of the bad records. Haha Gonna get art and craftsy with the three discs that didn't work. (Hopefully number 4 is good and will not be arts and craftsed)
Listened through the whole album. Got some decent pops in side A, but could very well be an issue with my wiring. Record plays well and sounds excellent overall.
Yeah. I think heat mixed with kind of light packaging. Would help if they put something else in there to keep the disc more secure, because there's a good bit of empty space in the box.
So, to continue with my weird Five Score vinyl thing, they said they wanted to try and ship one more disc, and instead I just received Collapsible Lung from them. I am so confused. Haha
It really is. Haha Like, I don't know if they'll want it back or not so I haven't opened it and am just waiting for what they say on this one. I feel like I'm going to live down as the one bizzare customer experience from Smlxl, because everyone else has had no problems, and I hadn't in the past either.
Thanks! Hope you get everything figured out with your vinyl man. I have been following along in the thread.
I don't want to like, mess with their reputation. I've gotten both FANSD and Mmhmm from them and both came really well. As far I've seen, I'm the only one who's gotten bad luck like this with them. But yeah, this right here is a bit of a mess.
They said I could keep the Collapsible Lung, I told them to put a bunch of the cardboard squares that were in the box with Collapsible Lung in with the C/D disc they said they are going to ship again to keep it flat. For some reason they weren't putting those in replacements, so there was a chunk of space in the box for the record to move around and warp in the heat.
Packing a record is not that difficult, I don't understand. I also don't know where you live and how hot it gets in those warehouses or on the trucks, though. Either way, I'd be pretty upset if I had gone through all that you've gone through just to get a record that you've already paid for.
I live in the most hated state in America at the moment (nc) haha. Yeah, I'm a little annoyed. I'd think putting stuff in the box to keep the record flat the whole journey wouldn't be something I'd have to mention to a vinyl company. I'm just hoping Record C/D side #4 is functional, flat, and actually the C/D side to Five Score. I might rage if they ship it the same way, and it ends up warped again as a result. I got this about a month again and still haven't been able to play through it. I'm trying to be nice though, because I know what it's like to deal with people in retail and I'm trying to have as long a fuse as I can just for the sake of my own conscience. I hate being mean even if it is well deserved.
I like to think that their motives were: "this person keeps having problems. Let's send him our worst album instead - that'll teach him." In all seriousness, I hope it gets sorted. Very frustrating situation to be in.
I have one of each album they've released on vinyl, some first pressing some not, but I think the only one I've actually listened to is FANSD. I don't remember any issues but it's also the original pressing that came with that gift box and bag and all that.
I remember asking about this pressing at a show several years ago, only to learn that the last copy had been sold the previous night. Such a beautiful looking record.
