I'm at the point where I think Two Lefts and Mmhmm are my favorite. Not sure which I'd chose over the other anymore. My Anatomy nostalgia has worn off and it's dropped a few places haha.

 

I agree with this. It’s the sweet spot for their older, fun stuff. Their later albums are each such a mood, I have to be in the right mindset to listen to them.

 

As someone who just got into them, I’m going with Mmhmm and Air For Free as my favorites

Exactly! They strike the right balance of fun and also piano-based somber. When I want Relient K, it's usually one of those two.

 

I’ll take what I can get but they’re missing a great opportunity if they record new music and don’t have Dave sing co-lead on some songs. Those are some of their strongest ones.

 

They’re covering Switchfoot’s Ammunition for a deluxe compilation of covers coming out Sept 15. This is what they were recording at Dark Horse a few months back.

 

This is cool but also, like, release new music lol. I’m dying over here.

Anyone know who recorded with them? Are Schneck, Dave, and Ethan on it?

He said it was a new song. Can confirm.

He mentioned a 10 year anniversary LTJ tour that happened recently where he went to the pit barefoot.

 

I mean, I liked it, but I’d barely call it a song. Hopefully this is just the tip of the iceberg for new songs from them.

Their Ammunition cover is fantastic. Would love for more RK music that sounds like this.

Production on this is, unsurprisingly, pristine! Matt's vocals have a nice edge to them too. Gosh, I hope these lads return with a full album before too long.

 

This actually is one of my favorites on the album so I'm glad they got this one. Super good!

 

I can see it growing on me but on first listen I think it’s just okay. It’s a well-done cover but the song itself is neither bad nor great. Regardless, I’m just glad to have new music from them.

Someone on Reddit mentioned the idea of Relient K doing a similar album of covers for Mmhmm, which I think would be an awesome way to celebrate the 20th anniversary next year. I’ll bet they could get some cool and relatively big artists to participate in something like that.

 

I just want new music lol.
