They seemed to be having an absolute blast with each other on this tour. Especially cool seeing Ethan and Dave play in the same lineup. I am very optimistic about new music in the future.
Relient K recalls rise to Jay Leno, Billboard success, Canton roots "We do have ... a goal of making another album someday," said Thiessen, who co-produced Owl City's No. 1 song "Fireflies" in 2009 and still writes new music regularly. "Logistics in this band have become a little difficult. ... It's just about getting together, and it's about figuring out where and what and when and how, but it will happen — I have faith that it will." -Thiessen "I’m excited about what we can make ... and how we can make music that feels important to us after all these years," the guitarist wrote. "I don’t really think about hanging it up at a certain point. I think that Relient K will always kind of change into whatever form it needs to be for us, and that’s a pretty cool place to be” -Hoopes
"said Thiessen, who co-produced Owl City's No. 1 song "Fireflies" in 2009" LOL at this being the singular callout for his entire music career
One of the Watashi Wa songs with RK came out, but interestingly is just credited with Matt on Spotify. Either way, the song is horrendous and lyrically it feels even worse, I don't know why Matt involved himself with that
Just would be nice to see Matt, or the band, or anyone from Anberlin speak out. At least none of them actively posted or promoted the songs, but still
The team first promoting the album that was sending press releases about it had no idea. I sent them the tweets (now deleted) and told them I wouldn’t work with them and to take me off the list. They appear to have pulled out. (a different team is now sending me press releases)
Anberlin guys don't like to ruffle anybody's feathers. They keep more fans around that way. Sucks, but I'm pretty sure that's what to expect from them.
(Emery re-signed with Tooth & Nail and are going on a tour with Watashi Wa that was just announced today.)
It’s a Catch 22. He probably doesn’t want to draw attention to it but not addressing it poses it’s own bad optics.
HEY EVERYONE WE DID IT the Watashi Wa album is out now and BOTH Relient K tracks no longer have Relient K on them!!! The previous upload of the single featuring Matt/the band is also scrubbed from the internet. One small step, but exciting
at the very least, they should just credit Stephen instead of the full band. i don't think the other 4 members contributed anything to the song, and while i'm not happy Stephen is on there, it's better to say he's the featured artist rather than take advantage of the Anberlin name for sales and streams.
