Isn't Ethan like a monster on guitar too? Maybe they'll have him do that and Matt T can just do piano full time or something
Best album - FANSD Best line up - Five Score EDIT: Should clarify, love Ethan. Would be awesome to see him and Dave involved
Based on that Twitter post it seems like they both will be. Also, I agree. It’s odd; I don’t love Five Score as much as their other albums but that’s my favorite line-up because it was the one that promoted Mmhmm even though it wasn’t the one that recorded that album.
I just hope we get a new record at some point. Been listening to Air for Free a fair bit recently and there's so much great stuff on there.
Somehow I totally missed their last two albums after Forget and Not Slow Down. I've been catching up on Air for Free this morning and its so solid!
I am quite impressed by this, considering Forget And Not Slow Down was 2009! Air For Free is great - glad you've found it now.
I would be so happy if they would make another album like Five Score or FaNSD. I really tried but I could not get into CL and AfF.
AFF is about tied with Five Score now for my second favourite RK album. Empty House is my favourite song by them too.
Five Score is definitely the biggest sounding album we'll ever get from them, they put those major label dollars to good use!
My son has started really getting into mmhmm and it's reminding how awesome that album is. Probably my favorite at this point if I had to choose, which is....a big shift for me haha.
MMHMM is still their best record in my eyes. But man, if you take out Collapsible Lung, the entire run from Two Lefts to Air for Free is unreal.
RK - Unlistenable Anatomy - Barely listenable Two Lefts - A nostalgic joy ride Mmhmm - Hugely influential and a big step up from Two Lefts, but still largely relies on nostalgia. Five Score - High highs, low lows. Wish this had done for their career what they’d hoped. FANSD - A masterpiece of an album most bands will never achieve. Their best album. CL - Loathed it when it came out, but I’ve really come around to it and Don’t Blink and the title track are top notch RK songs. AFF - A perfect summation of their career, while also looking forward. My favorite RK album.
