Only just getting to this now, but damn. This is probably my favorite thing I've heard from them. Really impressed.
It's so incredibly detailed and diverse, I can't think of any other pop, or even rock honestly, album that has so many songs with distinct different sections, but flows between them without faltering
Local Construction, Man, Mountaintop, Sleepin, Marigold, Runnin..... all are easily top tier RK songs, which is crazy because of how deep and strong their catalog already is
I struggle to think of a band that could pull off as extended an "ohhh" passage as these guys do on the chorus of "Bummin'." So impressive.
This still hasn't clicked with me just yet. I haven't spent much time with it though - so that could be why.
Even the song about God, which should be (and is kinda) dorky, still sort of works because it's sincere and positive.
It's not like it's a preachy song or anything, I have no problem with someone singing about what they believe in, like any other subject someone would sing about. It only gets kinda annoying when it's more preachy in my opinion
#hottake Think I've settled on my top three RK albums being (in no order): Air For Free, Forget and Not Slow Down, and Two Lefts
Let it Snow Baby... Let it Reindeer is one of my favorite Christmas albums still, they do a really good job of updating the classics with their own edge
The band's been posting alternate album covers on their IG, a few pretty cool ones that eventually didn't make the cut
