Bumping because I was just reminded this comes out Friday and I'm really looking forward to it.

Hate to say it, but even for Reggie, this is pretty rough. Vocally in particular. This is easily his weakest imho but there's a solid 8-track album here.

edit: I do appreciate that it's a little more serious in the context of his discography.

Songs Not To Get Married To is my favorite Reggie album, by far. How does this one compare?

 

I am finding myself weirdly in love with this album.

 

Status update: I've since my last post gotten every Reggie album, and while I love the others, this is by far my favorite. And even more strange, this is already a contender for my AOTY.

 

wow this really surprises me. I would say this is like his 3rd or 4th best. But happy you got into him

 

Pentimento is Reggie’s touring band, it’s been that way since his No Country For Old Musicians tour.

Was there ever a reason given about his departure from Get Up Kids? When it was announced, it had the tone that he was kicked out.

 

I don't think GUK ever said why but it was the same time all the stuff was being accused against him on IG so reading between the lines...

mike is the dude! i fuckin loved pentimento, they forever remained underrated though

 

I highly recommend this podcast... he also talked very openly about Max Bemis.... it all starts around 25 minutes in.

 

thanks for sharing, it was great hearing from mike, i haven't seen that dude in SO long. not surprised at all about any of the stories. max bemis has always been a grifting pos, all those fund my family's studio, give me money gofundmes rubbed me the wrong way, i was never really into SA that much or else i'd be more bummed out. and the james stories are all on point. i followed them closely for years and yah hes not a good person. he did personally mail me a record once for cheap but thats few and far between

 

also when was the podcast recorded, the it dies today billie ellish thing was awhile back

 

August. But hotel etiquette’s album just came out yesterday so I was looking for him on pods and stumbled on it.
