The only thing I would give this film the benefit of the doubt is that Jake Kasdan is directing and I remember that first trailer for Jumanji : Welcome To The Jungle was released and people online and people I know in real life hated it but then the 2nd trailer was ok but no one was interested then the the actual film was released and it turned out to be really good, had amazing box office legs and it made almost a billion dollars and then Jumanji: The Next Level was released and people like that film and that made over $800 million so I won't write off Red One just yet simply because of who's directing the film.
He's starring in Celine Song's follow up to Past Lives called Materialists opposite Pedro Pascal and Dakota Johnson for a24 so he could bounce back!
I really enjoyed his 2 Jumanji films a lot so I am hoping this could potentially be a suprise in a good way... There's been trailers I've watched for films in the past that I thought it was dogshit but the actual film itself turned out to be really good so my expectations for Red One r a realistic we'll see what the word of mouth will be like when it's released then I'll make my decision to see if I could take my niece and nephews to cinema to watch it
I saw this trailer and I don't know who this movie is for. It looks like a semi-serious action film with weird fantasy elements... but it's about fucking Santa Claus, played by JK Simmons of all people. It defies explanation. Is it targeting kids? I'm honestly not sure.
PG-13 so 12 year olds who are into Marvel and The Rock I guess I don't know I'm too focused on hot Santa
Today I learned this is meant to be the beginning of a franchise. Cannot wait for the inevitable Easter sequel.
If this report turns out to be true then fucking hell!! Hollywood really need to reign in the budgets for these types of films because they r just getting out of control and I can definitely see this and Joker 2 being the biggest money losses of 2024.
