More so there are news articles posted about this band but after the Brand New stuff and Pinegrove stuff there are no longer articles or news updates posted about them so it seems that by posting RHCP news they are supporting them.

The answer is they are supported by a major label and have been for the majority of their entire careers. Is it a coincidence Pinegrove and Brand New are consistently brought down while on independent labels with less money to fight off negative press while you rarely/never heard about Fall Out Boy, The Beatles, Chilis Peppers.....

 

I don’t think the fact that they’re on a major label affects the coverage they get on this particular site, which is what the discussion was about

 

It absolutely effects how much it’s covered everywhere

 

I’ve been geeking about the Frusciante news for almost a month now. I changed my avatar and bought a fiesta red Stratocaster bc of this guy. I’m so happy I’ll finally have a chance to see him live.

yeah i feel like the majority of the people on this site loathe the band. very few supporters.

 

I whiffed on the request to merge threads. Don't really look at the music forum unless someone quotes me. I hope there can be meaningful discussion about this bands outputs and the shit the have gotten away with over the years.

Not defending the actions in the video at all, which are abhorrent, but they were quite knowingly on a shit ton of drugs back then and I'd like to think they've cleaned up their act over the past 30 years.

That may be true. However, I have found that majority of the users on this board are of the mind that if you exhibit these behaviors at any time during your tenure in the spotlight then you should never have the spotlight again.

 

kinda loathe the band but i like his solo projects a lot. interesting listen.

josh's solo album under the pluralone name from last year is pretty good actually. super interesting tones throughout. much cooler style than this band. hope he's somewhat successful on his own. guess he's opening for pearl jam this summer
