^ Yeah, I agree. Listened through late last night, was half paying attention. "Encore" was def the highlight for me first time through.
Just had my first listen to this. Better than I thought it'd be. Dark Necessities has really grown on me from when I heard it first a couple of months ago, title track too has grown on me a little too.
My daughter got me a RHCP tshirt for father's day. See y'all wearing it at the shows this month (Panic/Weezer, Warped, and Blink) :)
Not very Californiacocious of him Anthony Kiedis Flipped Off, Cussed Out Rockets Staffer During Lakers Brawl
HELL YES!! This is one of the weirder takes I've read on here Dave is great obviously, but I've never felt like he made that big of an impact on RHCP... One Hot Minute doesn't touch any of their best stuff with John imo
By best stuff, you can only mean Blood Sugar Sex Magik right? Because OHM tramples all over most of the stuff they've done since. It's on a different fucking scale to the turgid dross they serve up nowadays.
The two newest albums sure, but imo Californication especially, and even the high points of the two albums after with John are better than OHM. Fair enough though! Dave is obviously a great guitarist.
I find BSSM and OHM to be far more exciting and interesting than pretty much anything else since. I really like Californication but from then on they just gradually evolved into the rock band for people who don't like rock music. Also Anthony Kiedis is clearly an awful prick, who can only dream of having a tenth of the talent of Mike Patton.
