Shoveled some shit last night and then blew it up. Lots of fun, would do it again. I feel like I don't understand how a lot of the mechanics in this game work, or which ones are important, but I'm still having a good time and haven't died too often so I'm happy.

 

I suck at shooting, the mechanics feel a little more off than usual

 

Echoing the sentiment, I’m still getting used to all of the mechanics, but damn is this game beautiful, and immense in scope. The compendium of animals may be my favorite part.

 

Yeah, that's something I'm really impressed with too. 170 damn animals to find!

 

i want it to be known that i killed the legendary bear by shooting him and wrestling with him. a true hero.

I bought a new outfit and immediately got thrown into the mud. Then I started the bear hunt mission and got mauled and he ripped up my jacket. However in the next scene my clothes looked fine.

Same. I thought I was fucked when that thing jumped on me. Was so relieved when I punched it in the face, wriggled out, and Carbine Repeater’ed it in the face.

 

this game is fun

 

Riding on a horse in first person mode will never get old

 

Every time I start a game where my actions have consequences, I always convince myself that I am going to be a Bad Boy and kill everyone. Yet here I am, rescuing people from cliffs and stopping to help them fix their broken wagons.

 

Don't trust any of those monsters Matt who do different, we're too pure for them

 

never surrender to the cops. massive mistake.

 

i thought surrendering was a good way to clear your bounty without paying it

 

well, my bounty was like $250 and i had $150 in cash. so i surrendered, thinking that, and had $0 when i got out haha.

 

maybe donate or spend it all then surrendering would be better

didn't get to play nearly as much as I wanted to this weekend. I'm dying a lot more than I remember haha

 

I havent died or done a rampage yet. If my horse dies is it gone for good?

 

unless its a DLC one, I think so. You can revive it if you use horse reviver immediately

 

Trying hard to not let this get in the away of my LSAT, but man it's so fun.

 

Some people on the roads be wild. Had a guy ride his horse directly in to my killing himself. When I went to go pick up my legendary bear skin the horse kicked me in the face killing me and i lost the hide for good. Fuck that dude.

 

Gf started playing some red dead while I'm at work and one of the first thing she texts me is

"Can't see any of the horses' balls"

 

after i destroyed that bear, i put the skin on my horse and then got robbed by a gang! i died and lost the fucking pelt. i'm so angry. there's no way to get it back??
