I recommend finishing the main story and epilogue and then finishing the side stuff.

The whole final 4-5 missions of the game really really worked for me. Every time I went back into camp, there was this clear divide, the numbers kept dwindling, and I actually became so suspicious I was gonna be attacked that I would ride in with my binoculars and scan ahead. That's when I noticed the two "new" recruits at the camp and I was like "who the fuck are those two?". Sure enough Ms.Grimshaw runs over and warns me when I come into camp. Contrasting that type of atmosphere with how the camp operated in chapters 2 & 3 made me sad - truly. The level of storytelling impacted how I continued to play as it truly felt like the end of everything Arthur had known. All of those white missions that begin popping up near the end again really assisted in the way the main story impacts the player. I helped all of those people near the end and rejected payment, always just doing it to search for "redemption"/avoid turning in to Dutch. Add in the ticking clock of Arthur's own mortality, and the ending of this game hit a level of storytelling I hadn't played through since The Last of Us.

Also... when the horse dies at the end, and he takes a moment to thank it - that really got me.

I’m on chapter 4. I’m starting to have some complaints about some gameplay elements that may just be nitpicking. But I really do not like how “on the rails” and linear missions are. And they’re mostly ridiculously easy. Also after a certain few missions money is just useless because you have way too much. I don’t feel any need to go out and make money on the side

Just started Chapter 4 recently, first thing I did was get an Arabian horse. Was about $1k, but so worth it.

I got this the past week and have been slowly playing it. I'm in chapter 2 and have been doing a lot of side stuff. Game is unreal. I don't like not having my guns equipped after getting off my horse though. That gets frustrating

I went up there, got so close to catching it, it ran away, followed it, then some wild animal (elk or something) came and made a noise and it left. I kept leaving (to the train station SE of it) and coming back and it would never reappear, so I gave up on it.

Somehow missed the news of Online’s launch date earlier. I’ll be on tomorrow. When’s everyone else getting access?

Should I do the Braithwaite mission with Hosea or the Gray mission with Jon? Or does it matter?

The most frustrating shit ever is when you're hunting and you've tracked down the animal you need to kill. You're all set and ready to assassinate that bastard for the perfect pelt, but then the fucking gun you need for the perfect kill is on your horse who is hundreds of yards away. That shit drives me bonkers.

Wow chapter five is really short. Chapter six now.

Ugh the chapter 4 camp is so fucking annoying to be in with the running restriction. Horrible lay out with everything super far from each other. Very cool concept for a camp spot, but the gameplay mechanic stopping you from running in camp ruins it entirely

I feel like I’m just posting complaints now but everyone already knows everything that’s amazing about this game, I’ve got nothing to add there. It’s still easily the most immersive and engrossing video game I’ve played since the Witcher 3
