i managed to tame the white wild horse in the snowy area. its the best free horse in the game until later chapters, i read. i crouched and spammed the x calm button and when the horsey started to buck and neigh, i stopped and waited and then slowly moved and spammed the calm button until i got close enough to mount.

i also stumbled upon the serial killer side quest. i had to spoil it for myself because i am too spooked. i keep thinking i'm going to be jumped by the killer.
i spent the rest of the weekend trying to finish the master hunter challenges. idk why but it's boring to me and i'm only on master hunter 5. i want to do more story quests but don't want to progress the chapters haha

 

Also this game is the first time I've experienced full blown hardware/non-internet lag on a console. Feels like the OG PS4s can juuuuust barely run it

I have a slim and it runs smooth for the most part, it does lag sometimes a little when I’m in saint denis and it becomes congested with people

 

I’m trying to do the mission in black water where I’m wanted DOA, I’m pretty non-confrontational in the game so I try to get in under the radar but I keep getting murked ugh

 

On chapter 6 right now. I wasn’t doing any missions or anything and kept getting killed anytime I would venture out, so I started to just exclusively focus on missions since the story is so damn long.

 

You have to stay by the river

 

Here's some tips from my experience for anyone avoiding the main story in order to play around and explore
I'm leaving all story details out but I'll still cover it because it could technically be considered a spoiler...

All side missions will become available after you finish the main story but not immediately. You have to do a couple missions before you can get it all back. After those missions you retain everything in your satchel as well as all your clothes, weapons, ammo and their upgrades. You do not retain any money! At least I haven't yet, so spend as much as you can if you're getting close to the end.

I just edited it a little bit to clarify that... you have to do a handful of missions and then they appear like before.

i highly recommend hooking up with the wagon fence at emerald ranch. he gives you $40 a pop for the big wagons! but don't bring him lawman wagons. he gets mad and won't take them

 

Kept trying to go to the area where the legendary buck is and it just keeps saying “it will be some time before the animal returns” :/

 

Kind of felt like an asshole after robbing this guys house. I killed him while his son was in the other room. He was not too happy.

 

I got rejected naming my horse "Just Dingers"

Did that last night. With the son hiding under the bed? I felt so bad.

 

I'm hearing chapter 3 is the best spot to stay for 100hrs. I'll probably advance, just at the spot where my camp is getting started to move.

 

Opps keep killing my horse, they just got my white Arabian smh. I’m literally on foot right now cuz I just accidentally shot my other, secondary horse.

 

I just tried to climb to the top of this mountain and ended up toppling down to my death. This game is the best.

 

I'm on my fifth horse because I like to try and take shortcuts and just end up plummeting down a mountain

 

I'm never going back to GTA 5 lol

 

Haha yeah I do the same. I think it’s cuz on Skyrim you could just floor it all over the place without really having to worry about your horse
