I've been fixing up my basement and am nearing completion. I'm waiting to start RDR2 until I get my 65" 4k TV back up and running. Figured I should wait till I can have the full experience haha

 

It's insane how much time you can put into this game just running around and not progress in the game. I spent like 4 hrs last night hunting/exploring. Totally taking a break this evening lmao.

 

Holy shit!

I found a tiny cabin the middle of nowhere and my horse started going nuts and I didn’t know why. I open the door and there’s a grizzly bear just chillin inside and absolutely mauled me to death haha

 

This is exactly where I am at as well. Seems like I have not been advancing the story for days now, just doing random stuff and totally getting lost in everything there is to do.

 

me and a few of my co-workers just purely talk about how good this game is when I have only played 2 missions

 

I like the collecting the bounties, doesn't look like there's that many of them?

Damn man somebody killed me and stole my horse.

 

Last night I found a giant meteorite in the woods and dead people in a cabin nearby who had been hit with a piece through the roof and I got to loot the piece

 

Just murdered that race science dude in broad daylight in front of 10+ people and didn’t get in trouble for it. Hell yeah.

 

Anyone else feel like they have no idea what they are doing in this game? I got wrecked by that bear while trying to hunt it. I don't even know what gear I should have or where to get it. Why can't you save during missions? It's been years since I've played a Rockstar game... Maybe that's a thing now.

What an incredible game though. I just feel overwhelmed.

 

If you "study" the bear or whatever animal you're trying to hunt (by hitting R1 on PS4, idk about XBOX), it'll tell you the best weapon you need to hunt it.

 

Is that with dead eye?

 

click start. go to story and then click save.

 

Nah, just focus on the animal like you're focusing on a stranger and it'll be an option that pops up

 

Holy shit I shot a guy's head off.

 

Shoot at a guy's throat and you'll really have some "fun"

 

I realized last night you can use a shotgun to blow off heads and limbs and have just bone sticking out it’s very gnarly

Can I go back for the bear or is it gone?

 

i think manual save didn't open up for me until chapter 2 or 3

 

It should be, you just gotta leave the area and come back later

 

I went back and hunted it today. It mauled me once again but I shot it in the face with a shotgun

 

I am still the only one donating anything of value to my camp. A bat wing for 15 cents? A blue jay feather for 25? I literally had enough turkey feathers in my satchel worth 10x that combined. And then on top the Grimshaw woman bitching at me about chores? Fuck right off with that shit

 

Some of the realism is a bit much. I mean I appreciate it, but shit my wife nags enough in real life. I don’t need it in my gaming too...
