The march towards Record Store Day continues today with a look at Collective Soul and their fourth studio album, Dosage. The record is celebrating a 25th anniversary this year, so the timing was perfect to reissue this LP. This “RSD First” release is limited to just 2,000 copies via Craft Recordings, and it is pressed on “translucent lemonade” vinyl. The set features the singles “Heavy,” and one of my all-time favorite ballads in “Run.”

The hype sticker mentions that this pressing is the first official vinyl reissue of the platinum-certified Dosage. The vinyl is housed in a full color lyric sleeve and the dedication to making this release be worthwhile really paid off.

The vinyl itself is dead quiet as the needle hits the record, and as Dosage kicks in with “Tremble For My Beloved,” I was immediately transported to the golden era of Alternative Rock. The sonic highs and lows of this dynamic pressing are all top notch, and the attention to detail in making sure the 25th anniversary pressing of Dosage is perfect works out nicely. Buy with confidence this Record Store Day if you’re in need of adding this Collective Soul classic to your collection.

Tremble is a top intro track in 90’s/2000’s alt pop rock. It crushes live.
