Record Store Day is tomorrow! With a fresh slate of new vinyl reissues, exciting exclusives, and in some cases, the first pressings of many key titles, the observance comes with a lot of excitement each time it rolls around in April. The full list of RSD Black Friday releases can be found here, but be sure to check in with your local indie record store to see what they will be carrying. In this preview, I’ll be diving into some of the most sought after releases and offer some tips for newcomers to secure these titles.

First, a few key things to remember:

    1. There are three categories of Record Store Day Titles:
RSD EXCLUSIVES: These titles are physically released only at indie record stores.
RSD FIRST: These titles are found first at indie record stores but may be released to other retailers or webstores at some point in the future.
SMALL RUN/REGIONAL TITLES: These titles are either regionally based and sold at specific stores, or are press runs under 1000, which means they may be harder to find at record stores around the country.
    2. Many of these RSD titles are in “limited” variety, so that usually means waking up early to secure your place in line on the busiest shopping day of the year. I’d highly recommend calling your local record store, or visiting their social media page, to see if they offer any guidance on how their queue will be operated. While most stores opt for a “first come, first served” mentality, other stores hand out physical, numbered tickets for patrons to know their exact place in line.
    3. Record Store Day is meant to be a celebration of indie record stores! Yes, scalpers suck and are definitely ruining the fun, but even if you don’t find the title(s) you’re looking for on Saturday, many indie record stores will sell their leftovers online as early as this Sunday morning. Check your favorite indie record store websites to see when they will release their stock so you can set your alarm and secure your next favorite record.

Record Store Day 2026: Key Titles

This year’s slate offers several new vinyl releases from marquee artists. Here are the titles I see moving fast this Saturday morning.

Against Me! – New Wave B-sides

This RSD Exclusive release is an EP of 4 songs from Against Me!’s New Wave sessions with producer Butch Vig, and is pressed on 12″ pink vinyl. It is limited to 3,000 copies.

Johnny Blue Skies & the Dark Clouds - Castaways

One of my favorite releases to come out this year was the full-length LP of Mutiny At Midnight. Castaways is a RSD Exclusive release that features two additional songs from the Sturgill Simpson project, is pressed on a 7″ picture disc and is limited to 3,000 copies.

    Charli XCX – “party 4 u”

Charli XCX continues to be a strong supporter of indie record stores with her new to vinyl 7″ single on ultra-clear vinyl, with an etched B-side. The single is an RSD Exclusive and is limited to 8,000 copies.

The Cure – Greatest Hits / Acoustic Hits

Two separate releases from The Cure are being released this Record Store Day on silver “bio vinyl.” Greatest Hits is limited to 7,300 copies, while the Acoustic Hits collection is limited to 7,200 copies. Both are RSD Exclusive releases.

Dijon – How Do You Feel About Getting Married?

Dijon was one of my favorite discoveries from last year, so anytime I can get more music from him on wax is a treat. This 12″ vinyl EP is pressed on “Brick-colored” vinyl, is a RSD Exclusive title, and is limited to 4,400 copies.

Fall Out Boy – So Much For (2our) Dust: Live At Madison Square Garden

Fall Out Boy’s live set from their 2024 New York performance is pressed on x3 LP vinyl, is a RSD Exclusive Release, and is limited to 20,000 copies.

    HAIM – Relationships

HAIM are releasing an EP of bonus tracks and alternate takes from their 2025 album, I Quit, on 12″ clear vinyl. The RSD Exclusive release is limited to 1,500 copies.

Momma – Welcome To My Blue Sky (The Heart Charm)

Indie rock band Momma are continuing the celebration of their last record, Welcome to My Blue Sky, with a 12″ EP vinyl of songs from the deluxe version of the record. It is a RSD Exclusive release limited to just 1,200 copies.

Paramore – All We Know is Falling (Deluxe)

The debut album from scene legends Paramore is finally getting the deluxe vinyl treatment. It is pressed on x2 vinyl 12″ discs, and includes the rare The Summer Tic EP added onto the final tracklisting. It is a RSD Exclusive release limited to 7,000 copies.

    Taylor Swift – “Elizabeth Taylor”

You didn’t really think Taylor Swift would sit this Record Store Day out, did you?!? She is releasing her latest single on a violet splatter/glitter 7″ vinyl with no final pressing numbers provided at the time of this publication. The B-side includes the “(So Glamorous Cabaret Version)” of the single.

Third Eye Blind – Rarities & First Drafts

One of my personal most-sought out records this Record Store Day is the RSD Exclusive release of Third Eye Blind’s collection of rare tracks, demos, and early versions of songs from their first three studio albums. It’s pressed on Translucent Emerald 12″ vinyl and is limited to 3,090 copies.

Various Artists – You’ll Never Eat Fast Food Again

The classic Drive-Thru Records compilation is coming to vinyl for the first time this Saturday. It features plenty of songs that are either hard to find on vinyl, or have never been pressed to the format, in a comprehensive x2 12″ vinyl LP set. It is a RSD Exclusive title, with no pressing numbers available at time of publication.

Violent Femmes – The Blind Leading The Naked

One of the titles I was most excited to check out this Record Store Day was the 40th anniversary pressing of this Violent Femmes classic. The great people at Craft Recordings provided me with a promo copy so that I could give an exclusive preview of what to expect in the set. This great-sounding vinyl is pressed on yellow vinyl, with a bit of a “galaxy” swirl to it, and it has plenty of punch in these grooves. This RSD Exclusive release is limited to 1,350 copies.

Wolf Alice – Spotify Live Room

This 7″ single from Wolf Alice features two songs from their Spotify Live Room sessions and is a RSD Limited Run / Regional Focus Release limited to 1,000 copies. It has “Play It Out” on the A-side and “Midnight Song” on the B-side.

Best of luck this Saturday, and remember that every day can be “Record Store Day” if you continue to support your local indie record shops!
