The Devil Wears Prada’s Jeremy DePoyster was in the studio with up-and-coming Charlotte, NC metal-core outfit, Ghost Choir. They released a single today, “Make Me Believe” and it is worth (multiple) listens. Ghost Choir jokingly calls themselves “generic metal-core” but their talents are anything but run of the mill. Their lead singer has a phenomenal range; the clean singing parts are rich and emotional, but this guy can also scream like hell. Their guitarist is wildly talented — I’ve seen them play live and it’s worth the price of admission just to watch him shred. Really complex licks layered over some chuggy metal riffs. If I needed to give a reference to what they remind me of, I’d maybe go for Saosin in the self-titled / ISOSG era, but they are really doing something their own (despite the tongue and cheek “generic” monicker they’ve self-assigned). I’d love to know what y’all think! Ghost Choir - Make Me Believe • chorus.fm
