Something that will give me the feels. Any genre. Just listened to Car Seat Headrest - Teens of Denial. That was a good start. Pretty solid record overall. And now listening to Black Foxxes. I always love discovering new stuff.
Gotcha. Julien Baker is a common love here, and I like Illustrated Manual. And, Penny and Sparrow. They just put out some Christmas music. Very melancholy bunch.
Thanks i'll check those out. The new Julien Baker song is great. I still need to give the full lenght a proper listen actually so i will do that very soon.
Lewis & Leigh is pretty good. Definitely digging the record they released this year. Worth checking out.
Blasting in the office on Monday...then with a straight face I will proclaim I don't listen to the words. Edit: Nevermind...the whipped cream thing crosses a line somewhere.
The Gentle Hits. Saw them on someone's EOTY list and I just listened to their album all the way through...loved it and it's great for anyone into Catfish and the Bottleman with a sort of Bob Dylan influence. Maybe some Mumford and Sons but just a touch.
in desperate need of heartwarming piano-pop/rock. been missing music similar to "Drop Out - The So Unknown" or "Hostage" by Jack's Mannequin
Try the brother sister duo, "Lungley." I've been watching their youtube covers for a while, and they recently put out their first original album.
For all you old school absolutepunk.net fans, I signed up for this forum just to share this album with you. If you are a fan of the 2003-2006 scene, you are going to love this album. For me, it's tinges of spitalfield, my american heart, hidden in plain view, drive thru records, so many influences. Check out this album, I just had to share it with you all. Paerish - Semi Finalists Can also find them on spotify. This album takes me back like crazy, its unreal. They really nailed down the nostalgia factor of all the absolutepunk era music I used to like. I hope you enjoy as well.
I fucked up quoting the two people looking for dream pop/shoegaze albums, but here you go! and probably the most "hiraeth" and "saudade" shoegaze/dream pop album of all time. if you are feeling introspective, or you are a fan of early radio dept, you are going to love this album:
Hi, new here... if you like some reggae/ska sound. Snoh Aalegra, the falsetto in the chorus is singed by John Mayer very dream pop
Not sure if the right place, but I've been looking for some great acoustic stuff. Wind in Sails City and Colour (older stuff) Dashboard Confessional The Honorary Title The Spill Canvas (older stuff) Andy Shauf Something that fits in the same realm as the above. Probably 95% acoustic with a tinge of emo thrown in. I've yet to dive into The New Amsterdams or Owen.
