I just went to listen the Spotify list that Thrice guys have been putting up together to show their recent influences, and it's got some good jams, while it also reminded me of Colour Revolt - I'm now listening to everything by CR, and some of it sounds too harsh for the office perhaps, but luckily there's barely anybody here today :)
Started listening to Animal Flag's Self-Titled EP. Kind of like Deja-era Brand New meets Pinegrove. Digging it.

I've been listening to the new Saosin. It's really good. I'm glad "Riff 9" made it onto the album in the form of Illusion And Control because that was my favorite out of the ones they previewed at their shows before the album came out.
Finally listened to the new Aaron West EP Bittersweet, I really like it. Sounds like a crisper version of the debut, I'm excited to see what comes next. About to finally listen to Julien Baker's album from last year. Not something I'd normally be into, but I've heard too much praise not to listen to it. I'm really liking the first track.
I stopped listening to Saosin around the time Cove joined and lost even more interest when he left. Their new release was completely off my radar till I saw this thread so I listened to it three times. Solid record. Some catchy riffs and Anthony's melodic style make for a good listen but I don't see myself returning to it.
Binged a buncha shit at work today. Thy Art Is Murder - Infinite Death EP Thy Art Is Murder - The Adversary Finally listened to the first half of TAIM's discography and god damn, I'd been missing out. This shit is ferocious as hell in different ways - whether it's Infinite Death with Brandon's super-high shrieks and "wank-y" guitar licks or CJ's growl. And god damn, this band knows how to write a good breakdown. Carnifex - Until I Feel Nothing Carnifex - Hell Chose Me Carnifex - Dead In My Arms Also finally listened to all but one of this band's discography in hype for their upcoming new release and music video dropping tomorrow - and I must say, their old stuff didn't click with me before until now, but now that it has, I need to get my hands on copies of everything this band has. This band knows how to write fantastic lyrics and their songwriting abilities are stellar as fuck. Job For A Cowboy - Gloom EP The Acacia Strain - The Dead Walk Nothing too much to say, just good shit. And I gotta say, the more this job goes on the more excited I get. I get to do tons of mindless physical labor that doesn't require too much effort and listen to as much music as I like and I get paid for it. I'm going to catch up on so much stuff this summer. This post was way longer than it needed to be. Oops.
