Sundays are the best days for music cuz I don't need to do anything. Did a bunch of listening today! Ariana Grande - My Everything Brian Fallon - Painkillers Circa Survive - On Letting Go CHVRCHES - Every Open Eye Foxes - All I Need Jimmy Eat World - Invented Moose Blood - I'll Keep You In Mind, From Time To Time (x2) Paramore - Riot! The National - Trouble Will Find Me (x2) Tancred - Out Of The Garden (x2) Thrice - Major/Minor Turnover - Peripheral Vision I also listened to Ariana's two new singles about 5 times each today.
Currently loving Ed Tullet's new record, Fiancé. Very atmospheric, somber with gorgeous vocals. RIYL: Keaton Henson, Daughter, Son Lux Also just discovered Gleemer and their record from last year (2015), Moving Away. Definitely one of the better twangly, heavy distortion indie bands out there. Solid record throughout. RIYL: Turnover, Young and Heartless, Diiv
I listened to The Drones - Feelin' Kinda Free today and absolutely loved it. Probably one of my faves so far this year.
The Dear Hunter was a revelation yesterday. For years I always heard really really good things about them. It was just one of those bands I've heard about but never really got into much. Whenever I pulled them up on spotify, I was left wondering what was so special. It kinda seemed ordinary and not really inventive. Flash forward to yesterday and realized what had happened. All these years I was pulling up DeerHunter. I never before realized there was a band called The Dear Hunter and another band called DeerHunter. Shit blew my mind yesterday and I have been enjoying Act 4 and The Color Spectrum ever since yesterday.
Headed to Groezrock in a week, so I revisited Tony Sly's 12 Song Program to prepare. Completely forgot how great it is. No Use and Friends will be such an emotional set.
Awesome, I'm from Belgium and I'm going for the tenth time in a row, can't wait! What bands are you looking forward to ? Yeah, that will be a special moment for sure. The mood is always so perfect at that festival, I love being there
Tenth time? Nice! It'll only be my third, but I'm so excited, haha. Besides No Use, I'm really excited about letlive., Me First, Frank Turner, and Saosin, although the schedule both days are packed for me. How about you?
Yeah, been going there since i'm 16, classic weekend with my best friends. I would say Much The Same, No Use, PUP, Face to Face, Saosin and The Falcon am I certainly looking forward too. But like you said, the rest of the line up is great either. Have a great time man, and lots of beer!
I still spin The Life of Pablo (or at least most of it) almost daily. Puts a smile on my face like no other album from this (so-far personally difficult) year and simply makes me want to dance.
Motion City Soundtrack - My Dinosaur Life Great 'windows down' album, plus check out this frickin guy!
Jammed to Fugazi - 13 Songs and Rancid's 2000 self titled album this morning on the way to work. Felt like my high school days all over again.
Just finished spinning How We Both Wondrously Perish by Being as an Ocean. While I think their other two albums are better, this album has some of my favorite one liners in their catalog.
On my way home from work today I exclusively listened to this song (and due me being distracted by it, I missed my exit and it was about a 90 minute drive) by some band called blink-182. It's called "Bored to Death". Pretty solid track by a band I don't see mentioned on this site much.
