Been listening to a lot of Smiths and Cure lately, specifically Disintegration and The Queen is Dead. Really been feeling 80s music lately, probably because of The 1975 haha
new O'Brother has basically been on repeat, probably an early contender for AOTY for me, but I've also managed a few listens of the new Weezer and Polyenso albums, and they are both also great.
The Other Stars - We Were Kids is out on Take This to Heart Records at the end of April. We were luckily enough to review and advance copy. It's more or less Front Bottoms meets Real Friends.
The Last Shadow Puppets - Everything That You've Come To Expect. Really great stuff. Definitely not as rooted in the '60's as its predecessor, but all is well. Love "Sweet Dreams, TN" and "Dracula Teeth".
Finally getting around to The World is a Beautiful Place and I am No Longer Afraid to Die. Only listened to their latest so far but it is so good!
Yeah I put it on a little bit ago while working and it just played in the background. It's very easy-listening. I think I need to give it another try when I'm not distracted, though. Definitely has that combo feeling of Everything's Fine and Legendary.
I think I like it more than Legendary now, it doesn't start off especially strong but some of the later songs have monster hooks
Same. She's got a powerhouse of a voice and it's great that she's able to use it again. I've always been a fan.
You gotta check out "Death to New Years" and "Long Live Happy Birthday." both EP's (IMO) are better than Harmlessness. Which is saying something because the album slays.
Anyone check out that Cardiknox record? It's Thomas from Forgive Durden's project. Very CHVRCHES-esqe
