i may have gone on a date with a witch tonight. or someone on a serious mescaline trip.

still in the process of processing what happened with friends but here's the happy hap:

went out to eat / drink with friends on Thursday night. ran into some of their separate friends, one was super cute, i talked to her knowing nothing would happen and four of us decided to hang out today (me, the girl, my friend and his gf who i am also friends with. the "new girl" is friends with my friend's gf).

i'm huge into exploring / haunted places so we're all trading videos back most of Friday and this morning.

decide to venture out to some creepy woods / backroads while it was raining and dark but not super dark as the weirdest double date i can imagine.

i pick her up, she's in a large black dress, black boots with a large black hat (#1)

we're driving and she turns on some weird voodoo music that she starts humming to (#2)

we pass a mole running in small circles in the middle of the road. this girl says, "he looks like my uncle Randal and i wonder who's possessing him to do that" with a completely straight face and no further comment (#3)

suddenly, his girl thinks she see something in the woods and asks me to slow down. then to stop. THEN SHE BOLTS FROM THE FUCKING CAR SINGING (#4)

i'm in total shock. so are my friends. it's raining, we're in the middle of nowhere and this, essentially, stranger to me (but friend of a friend) just leapt from my car singing and ran into unknown woods.

minutes pass. MINUTES. and still she doesn't return. we debate leaving but don't want to be held responsible in case she gets kidnapped or something.

FINALLY she returns to the car, as if nothing has happened, and says, "i thought i saw a skin walker, but it was just a family of deer and a fox. i talked to them for awhile and they said we're not in the right area for spirits." (#5)

no one said a word on the way home (45 minute drive).

I don't think I have ios11 yet...I'm not sure tbh. Either way I didn't know it had screen recording built in. i don't condone doing it overall but can definitely see cases where it would come in handy.

also it's definitely hit me lately how little time I've spent single. pretty much my entire 20s (and I'm almost 27) I've been committed to someone.
so I don't have many ex's to talk about lol.
my first ex is definitely a hot mess but that's to be expected since he was an abusive alcoholic and this was when we were TEENAGERS so ya know it only went downhill from there
my 5 year relationship ex is going through a gender crisis of sorts. I am not meaning to be insensitive or anything but he himself doesn't know/share what he identifies as these days. and we aren't in touch anymore so yeah I really don't know. It's definitely interesting though.
also the girl he moved on to from me was a definite downgrade lol sry but true

One fascinating fact I learned from psych is how malleable our memories are and how easy it is to convince ourselves of a completely made up memory given the power of suggestion

 

The universality if the shadow figure makes me wonder what’s behind it cuz it’s so ubiquitous throughout history but it’s almostnalways tied to sleep in some way. Still weird
