I'll be for real guys, and I know that i'm prob overreacting becasuse I just met this girl but it felt so good to be around someone that showed a lot of affection. My last relationship was really one sided where she was really emtionally unavailable throughout the whole thing and I told myself she will change and come around and she never did. And when she dropped me like a bad habit it devestated me. Last night Cait was just so open and sweet and affectionate and idk, I haven't had that in like 5 years. I went years without anything before my last ex (4 to be exact) so it has been a while since I have had mutual affection with someone if that makes sense.

 

And i'd like to thank everyone in this thread, because I was able to vent (maybe in a joking way) my frustrations with the break up and feelings of loneliness and really this place does wonders for my psyche. It's a great thing to have. Yall busting my balls and making jokes with me all day really keeps me going through hard times. Love yall.

 

i relate to so much of this brotha. i am similarly letting myself fall like crazy for the new girlfriend and she is doing the same, and we both very much acknowledge and appreciate the fact that we are leaving ourselves vulnerable for each other despite "knowing better". as long as you accept that it could fall apart, pursue it how you see fit. i mean, fuck, less than a month after meeting Melissa her I booked a week vacation with flights and everything that is 6 months away haha. happy for you dude and hope it progresses.

Thanks, yeah as much as we would hate to admit it we are on the same wavelength Cam. So i'm sure you're like me and you know when a fucking connection is there and chemistry is there. I just know because it usually isn't there with girls I meet. But when it shows up it hits you like a ton of fucking bricks. And it's an amazing feeling haha. Just gotta enjoy the fucking moment,

i'm not good at it either, but it's just part of the process for me now. i can still put myself in those first couple of months i had with Elena and justify thinking "yep, this will last forever" even with the knowledge of how horrible she would go on to be towards me for a year. it could have happened next week and, despite any perspective i've gained since, i still would buy into it. it's just too possible for something to go from genuinely amazing to nothingness in a flash without any discernible catalyst. it makes me equal parts more paranoid and more appreciative.
