also I'm gonna offer a woman's perspective on how to make it official (since I'm not sure there was one? correct me if I'm wrong)

My last ex, we spent a lot of time unofficial so I spent a lot of time thinking about how to make it official right lol especially because at one point he said he "didn't know how to ask" so here's what I think:

If you want to be EXTRA, there are all sorts of cute and creative ways you can ask. it takes thinking and knowing the person, I think. I would personally die if someone did something super extra to ask me to be official but I digress. [ETA: just as an example: I mentioned wanting a new journal right before christmas and one of the presents that showed up happened to be journal shaped. I was thinking how cute it would have been if I had opened it and on the first page was a little note from him that in it asked. but alas it was just a book lol]

it really is as simple as saying "do you want to be my girlfriend?" I think that's the most direct way to ask and honestly the best way, and leaves no room for confusion.

 

Not to toot my own horn, but I thought describing the view of 69 as "beautiful as a sunset with tits" was up there. And I'd spoiler tag this, I really would. But I don't know how or care really.

I was going to say that if it is designated for "interests" and guys know that (by filling out their own dating profiles) then that might give a bad vibe unless they post things they dislike as well.

Clearly it doesn't bother you if guys get this vibe, but it could help if you ever get tired of guys responding to the vibe in a lackluster manner.

So are they acting superior because they are upset that you are dissing a genre they really like or because you're a girl and dissing a genre they like? Would it be mansplaining if you being a girl isn't a factor into them being dicks? I don't know where the line is drawn between mansplaining and someone just being a dick. I've always thought mansplaining was influenced by or a result of misogyny. Not trying to be complicated, just wanting to clear it up so I understand it.
