Your local grocery store. Think of wild as anything but the plain button mushrooms you most commonly see. So think porcini, chanterelle, oyster, morel, shiitake, enokitake, etc. Criminis and portobellos would work and are much more flavorful than button mushrooms, but they're not typically considered wild mushrooms.

 

You could use psilocybe cubensis mushrooms and have a real magical evening.

 

What are the round ones that come in a container of like 1 lb? Those are the ones I know

 

If they're white, they're button mushrooms. If they're brown and the same size, they're creminis (same mushroom, just older). If they're big and brown, they're portobellos.

 

God, I love portobellos.

you should make a wild mushroom risotto too and butter poach some lobster tails to serve on top and then think gremolata or pesto

I honestly thought I was going to have a hard time sifting through this thread especially once v day came up but surprise it ended up being 2 pages about mushrooms
and not even the fun kind.

 

just catching up but my most awkward first date was when I went on a Tinder date to a bar, and the bar staff told us there was a free stand up show happening in the back room. So we thought we'd check it out, do something a little different to just sitting and chatting over drinks. Go to the room and there were 6 people there, ok cool, not many, but its Monday, maybe more people will fill in

nope. those 6 people WERE the comedians. we were the only two members of the audience the entire time! And worse yet, two of them were English so they knew exactly how to make it as uncomfortable as possible.

Why didn't we just leave? Because I'm English and that would be even more awkward. Even more awkward than trying to fake laugh at one comedian who just wasn't funny. And once they found out we were on a Tinder date, that was it. Game over.

At least they brought us a round of drinks for being good sports.

 

The fun kind were mentioned once.

 

Me and my girl aren't doing anything valentines day related which is good. She did say if I wanted to get her anything, a heart shaped pizza would be nice.

Also my parents are in town, and they don't know she exists yet, so that'll be fun
