I agree with this, but I feel like most people don’t and then if there was a spark they’d just get bored with the fact that I’m not looking for something and then my chances would be blown. The Dangerous Summer’s new album is making me feel a lot of things.

Didn’t want to clog up the album thread with too much of this so here goes... I’m realizing more and more that I just got out of a very emotionally unhealthy relationship. I adored this person and put them on such a pedestal where I would excuse anything they did... but nothing I did was ever good enough for them. We broke up in late summer and stayed “friends”, but I think I realize now that she just kept me around to still feel needed, she started seeing someone as soon as we broke up and didn’t feel like that was something that I should know even though we were supposedly close friends who in her own words “tell each other everything” (I feel like she probably dumped me for him, but in any case what’s done is done).

We had a falling out a couple weeks ago, and since then I’ve been realizing that so much of what I built her up as in my head isn’t who she is at all... and that’s my fault for putting her on that pedestal, because nobody’s perfect. But ever since we stopped talking, it’s like the spell’s broken and I see every time she would emotionally manipulate me or twist things around to avoid blame/responsibility, and invariably make me feel like I wasn’t good enough. I’ve been kind of a wreck lately honestly, it’s like there’s this hole in my life without her in it, and I think that’s exactly what she wanted... she knew I would keep coming back. I’m certainly not in a rush to date again, but at the same time I’ve rarely felt so lonely.

 

Yeah, Holland is the big dutch community in Michigan and they have a pretty cool Tulip Festival every year. Just kinda random that you family lived like 50 minutes from where I grew up/currently live/etc.

The Dutch colonized folks like me so I’m not fond of them.

My Grandma actually likes them cause she’s literally bourgeoise and was raised Dutch and Dutch educated and can speak Dutch, being trilingual, but overall it sucked for everyone else.
