I'm at a really weird point. It's been about 3 weeks of almost total silence and sleeping on the couch. Saturday was probably the worst day yet, but now I've tapped into a level of apathy that I am not familiar with. I just don't care and I find no comfort in that fact, it's very unlike me. My sister is telling me to move to Colorado near her and do the country thing, my best friend is begging me to move to Long Island and stay with him/get a place, my best high school bud and exroommate wants me to move back into that old place. I have so many options and none of them excite me. I don't want to move again. I put in so much work in this relationship and this house and made so many sacrifices. I want to say compromises, but that's just not what they were. I probably sound like I have a case of the nice guy syndrome and I have no doubt I'm blind to many of my offenses, but goddamn I gave my best version of me there's ever been these last two years and to see her interest in it dissolve slowly over time has been crushing.

I'm okay and am happy as I write this but it's just, like, fuck.

 

Don't mean to pry, but is there precedent for a freeze out like the one you're experiencing with your SO?

 

The short answer to this question is yes lol

 

If they were like this, what kept you around? Mutual acknowledgement of fault, moving on because these times are few and far between, etc? I mean, not to say one should run when faced w difficulty but the way you're describing your mental state sounds severe and if this is a chronic thing I'm just wondering how it's gotten resolved before. Feel free to tell me to fuck off tho

 

If there is one thing I am not, it's private, so ask away. The main reason is because seclusion is how she handles most big issues, most of them not involving me. Work, friends, etc send her inside herself and it's just how she works

So the girl that I've been seeing and I are now officially a thing.

 

Despite the nonsense I spoke to in the mental health thread so much of the life turmoil has lead to a bolstering of understanding and love/support from each other in this relationship. It's a shame it took her seeing how lil in the way of family on my side there is but I'll take a rejuvenation of understanding and unconditionally backing love anytime even if I gotta finesse bullshit for it.

Couples who laugh at life together stay together.

 

My ex texted me last night. Apparently, someone tried to break into her house. The motion sensor lights came on and scared them off, but they left the tool they were using to wedge the window open. She called the cops, but there is basically nothing they can do. She then texted me this morning to ask if I'd be willing to stay over tonight because she's scared. I'm torn between a feeling of obligation and not wanting anything to happen to her, and a desire to fulfill the other plans I have tonight. I haven't made a decision, but I feel the thought of leaving her on her own after her having experienced that makes me feel terrible. Blah.

 

There's gotta be SOMEONE else who could stay over there with her...

 

One would assume, but I don't know what's going on in her personal life.

 

I gotta say, I'd rather get no response then be responded to only to be told that I'm beneath their standards. Jfc on that god complex
