Today my dad was on the phone with my grandma and my grandma told him to tell me that she loves me. I said "love her too" and my dad repeated it to her and then was like ...and that's hard for Kiana to say I love you because she has no emotions.

So apparently my aloofness is legendary smh

My grandma was ridiculous today, hounding my about why I haven't started dating yet and how I needed to be married before she's gone. I'm like... no?

 

The thought of going on a first date is so unappealing to me. Ideally I guess we'd talk over text first a bit so we had something to go off of in person. Idk like I've always dated a friend of a friend or someone from class where u have this sorta built in foundation or something to talk about ready to fall back on. Getting to know someone from the ground up is kinda daunting and awkward and exhausting sounding.

 

Yup. I've never done it. I've always dated people I knew somehow.

 

So I've been seeing this girl for around a month now, we've been on six dates and I think things are going pretty well. Any advice on when/how I should bring up the relationship defining conversation? I kind of feel like it's time, but idk.

 

It's varied in every single one of my relationships, I don't think there's a set rule. How does is feel to you? Has she said anything that might make you think she wants to head in that direction ?

 

Well we had kind of a "double date" with her roommate and her boyfriend, she was saying how they liked me, and that they met online as well haha. And then in the morning she told me she had a bad dream that I had a girlfriend, haha. So idk if any of that means anything but I kind of feel like it's time to see what's up.

 

Well, I had a bit of a revelation the other day, and that's that I truly do love my ex and that she is somebody very important to me. The main reason she broke it off was because she was disheartened about me saying I was going to do things with my life and I just wasn't following through. That scared her. So i've been talking to her the past couple nights, and it's nice. We can talk about anything for hours and laugh. It suddenly came over me to ask her if in a few weeks, no rush, I can take her on a date and we can try this again. She said she will think about it, which I know her is probably a yes but she doesn't want to give me the satisfaction yet haha.

The couple months we've been apart i've realized I am almost 29 and don't have many plans, so I decided I want to go back to school to be a drug counselor. It's something I know I will be passionate and fantastic at. I've also made some other changes that I think the ex can see that i'm really putting things into action. I think that's all she ever wanted for me. And once I wasn't doing much for a solid amount of time she feared it would always be like that. It's been a big wake up call these past couple months, but my view of her has never changed, I really do love her and it looks like I still have a chance. I understand all those cliche movies where it states if you love someone you need to fight and do anything it takes to get them back and to keep them and I get that now.

I will keep ya'll updated with hopefully good news the next few months.

Curious to where you all met your significant others. I met my husband off of okcupid. I used to be kind of embarrassed about it, but then I realized it's not such a stigma anymore.

So I'm going to get my first STD/STI test on Tuesday. All my partners have always been very up front about being recently tested and negative so I stupidly thought that means I have no reason to get tested myself. But, I'm still hella paranoid/scared right now I could have something and not know it or be in that window time frame and reading the internet isn't helping things right now either haha.

 

It's the worst. I'm sure you're fine, but I get the feeling. I need to get tested again soon. I hate when they test for HIV, it only takes ten minutes to get the results but they are the longest ten minutes of all time.
