Dating my girlfriend for three years, yet my father doesn't approve her still and tells me he doesn't dislike her but I could do better. It hurts, it really fucking hurts.

Honestly, probably to the situation at hand. She has a 7 year old son. She's been through court with the father. More of the baggage aspect. But he can't see past that and understand it hasn't brought me down.

 

That's awful. That hits home for me because my wife has two kids, and an abusive ex(who is their father) My dad loves her and totally supports our relationship. I couldn't imagine him feeling different.
