Blind date tonight. Went and saw Annabelle movie. Ehhh. Movies and first dates are just weird. Plus he did the pretending to yawn and put his arm behind me thing. Really? Did he see that on Saved by the Bell back in the day? He was really tall. 6'4. I'm only 5'2 so really couldn't understand what he was saying when he talked because I was so far away. Ok that might have been an exaggeration. I did ask his fav breakfast food and he said pancakes. It was over even before it started. I'm tired of dating.

Also, I feel like going to a movie on a first date is awful. You're side sitting, it's not quiet enough to really get to know each other during the ads, so you're just sitting there in not-silence but also not talking and then you shut up during the movie (hopefully). How are you supposed to gauge chemistry? I say if you're gonna do a movie you grab a couple drinks beforehand

Drinks before hand can help. If I did the movie for a first date thing it would be an afternoon movie with a place near-by we could walk to and have some food/tea/coffee/drinks and talk about the movie. It builds in conversation immediately, which is helpful if for some reason you're not comfortable leading a conversation on a first date.

I got invited to the cinema as a first date, because the lady's friend had bailed on her and she had a spare ticket. I ended up watching Robocop in a cinema built by a collective of artists and volunteers. My night ended the next morning, on a mattress on her bedroom floor. It all felt very Bristol.

So yeah, while a cinema first date is not something I would ever choose, the one time I did it worked out sort of well...

We had drinks first or rather A drink first. The movie place was one of those that serves alcohol and had a separate bar area. So there was about twenty minutes of talking. He could carry on a conversation without stuttering so that was a bonus. But he had a stain on his shirt in the shape of one of the ghosts in the original Ghostbusters so in my fantastical brain I created an entire story line based on the life of this stain and was more interested in expanding that in my mind than talking with him about how he sneezes more now that he lives in Denver.
