There is another person I've been speaking with on OkCupid. But, I had to cut that off when the topic came to sex and she preferred violence and getting spit on. So, I opted out of that situation.

I just walked into this restaurant to try and speak with the hiring manager regarding an application I turned in and got hit on by one of the employees. Is there like a specific type of person that works in the restaurant business? At my last job I worked at a movie theatre, but within that theatre there was a restaurant and I would always get hit on by employees there. They were just so forward, sometimes too much so.

 

From what I understand, restaurants are a lot like college theater clubs

Not to be a bummer, but I think tonight is kinda it. Elena leaves tomorrow after work, coming home Monday, for plans we had all summer long that she asked to do without me just this week. She is reactive, and I fully expect her to come home from a weekend with her best friends and wanna be done with it. It's weird. We almost got eloped last year. We've been through a lot. I'm far from perfect, but I've learned to only say I'm committed when I've already put some work in and shown myself I am ready for it. I'm not the kind of dude to talk about a future without running through 20 scenarios in my head. I've always tried... but I look back, and since our most serious trauma, she has broken up with me/told me to leave... 8 times? At least.

It just sucks. I know I won't end up alone, I've struck a pretty healthy balance between my realism and my romanticism. I'm not shallow in the traditional sense. I've done very well for myself. But I have a house with this girl, she said she wanted kids with me, and now I'm prob gonna wind up in the same apartment I was in as a 22 year old meandering stoner. Anything can fall through. You just have to hope it doesn't, and put in enough effort to walk away knowing you didn't cause the collapse, you just needed to avoid the impact.

 

I'm sorry, that sounds rough. Keep your head up. You've got lots of friends here. I'm sure something positive will come out of whatever happens.

Honestly, the parallels in your relationship are so eerily similar to what I went through at the end of mine

 

It's cool tho. Less than 10 years ago, closer to 7, I was possessive and jealous af. Now I couldn't be less so. Now my girlfriend can go hang out with the friend I can tell wants to nail her and know that if she lets him succeed then she was never the girl for me anyways. Growing is cool. The reasons you grow usually suck.

Exactly. The amount I've grown just in the past year alone from the experience is honesty shocking to look back and see. We always want to better ourselves, but it seems it takes some shitty circumstances to finally push us to where we need to be.
