I keep meeting all sorts of weirdos with issues on dating sites so I'm taking a break from that stuff. I just got out of a long distance relationship with a girl that was pretty much perfect for me because she couldn't get out of her own way and was emotionally self destructive. I feel like it's probably a little better to chill out and regenerate for a bit anyway, try not to get into anything serious. I just reconnected with someone and we've been flirting a little, it's weird when you start talking to someone you disconnected from when they had a kid and it's like we both liked eachother why didn't we ever do anything? Life is silly.

 

FWB is fun for a few, but when you catch feelings it suxxxxxxxxxx. 0/10 would not recommend

Last time I had fwb I was 15 and it ended because I told the girl I thought she might have a happy trail... Lol

 

I feel so old and out of touch because a friend with benefits makes no sense to me

 

It's pretty awesome right now. I'm sure it'll crash and burn eventually, and then it'll suck. But that's in the future, so who cares.

I've had a FWB situation that ended well, so it is possible! Though in our case we both were moving away within the year, the natural expiration date was helpful.

I had a work FWB situation for a while. Had to cut it out when we were both leaving work at the same time and she walked to my car and got in. She wanted to hang out more and more as weeks went by. I felt kind of shitty about the whole thing, cause I've always been in serious long-term relationships, but I had just gotten out of a three year relationship and just wanted to hump something.

 

i feel like FWB only work if you lay down extensive ground rules from the get go. otherwise you or the other person will cop feelings.

I would always be wondering how many other FWB the girl has at the same as she's doing this with me. Granted, the same thoughts could be around when actually in a relationship (depending on trust issues and such) but FWB seems like such a quick way for diseases to get out of hand lol

 

It's hard enough with one FWB. Who the hell has time for more than one? I couldn't do it.

 

More than one fwb is kind of messed up to me in a weird way... I'd feel kind of like I was cheating.

 

You fucked up. Ha. But, seriously, it seems like the ones that meet their natural conclusion set up rules beforehand. Mine was only seeing them once a week, not sleeping over, no dinner dates, no talking about other partners, etc. I mean, they were agreed upon, so it wasn't unilateral or anything. It just worked for us.

 

Is this true? Because it does make sense, especially if you don't want it to get too serious. I think this is where I've been getting myself in trouble.

This is exactly how I approach it! Don't do anything relationshippy except sex and you should be fine. I've had one catch feelings and it ruined our friendship. I guess you risk that no matter what precautions you take though.

 

So much I didn't know. I mean, if I wanted to see a movie i'd call them to go with me...Now I see how that was a bad move.

 

Yeah, FWB texts or calls should be strictly limited to "can I get that booty tonight?"
