Her friend came up to me and found me and told me not to fuck up on the date. Thought it went well and then she ghosted me slowly. Matched with another girl from work and interact with her on a weekly basis. Totally don’t think she’s into me, and probably only swiped on me because she recognizes me. Messaged her today. What a coincidence, I’m listening to Goodbye Sky Harbor as I’m catching up in this thread

 

I just blocked my ex girlfriend’s number because she always comes back into my life every few months playing with me and then ghosts me, and she just did it again. like basically I blocked her so that I wouldn’t be looking at my phone waiting for a text from her that may or may not come. Anybody ever had to do this?

 

I’ve done this plenty in the past. I like how easy it is to do on iPhones now (these days I usually just block repeat robo-calls)

 

Yeah this is the first time I’ve done it but it was really easy. I feel good about it because even tho she was the one that pretty much ghosted me, by blocking her number I’m still putting the ball in my court since now she can’t contact me even if she wanted to. We aren’t friends on social media anymore or anything.

Also it’s kinda sad that I have to block her in the first place but oh well. She can find some other delusional fool to mess with.

 

ironically enough i was watching videos on YouTube about this to see what happens on the blocked person's end (like do they get a message that says blocked or does the text say it isn't delivered) and everything looks like it gets sent so they don't know their blocked and if they call you it rings once (only for them) and then goes to voicemail.

weird that they can still leave a voicemail, but it doesn't show up on your end, but when in your voicemail screen (or something like that) you can click on "blocked number voicemails" and listen to them i guess?

wasn't able to find anything that said what happens if you un-block the number (like, do all the text messages get flooded to your phone or no).

also not sure how this works on phones other than iPhones.

most important of all - hopefully you're happier with having her blocked and get move on with your life without the hassle of this ex!

 

I definitely had to block the ex-wife for a time there. Sometimes you have to completely cut them out so as not to be tempted to look up what they're doing and whatnot. She immediately blocked me from seeing her stories on Instagram like the week after she left because she knew me well enough to know that it wouldn't have helped either of us for me to see them.

We're good now but you definitely gotta protect yourself.

 

Had to do this with my ex. Got fed up with his games and finally realised I didn’t need him in my life

 

I have my ex blocked and thankfully it transfers phone to phone. It didn't used to, and once I switched phones and he wasn't blocked and the day I got the new phone he called me which was super creepy cause we had been broken up for like four years by that time and it made me wonder how often he tries calling.

 

I used to change phone numbers every 8 months or so for like 5 straight years because blocking people used to be difficult and / or they’d get a new number or call from a number that wasn’t blocked.

I’ve had my current number for about 3 years now and luckily haven’t had any issues yet *knock on wood*

 

This is the most on-brand thing I’ve ever done
