Music release days like today. New Modest Mouse, Tyler, the Creator, The Murlocs, Lucy Dacus, and Drug Church and they’re all good. Making packing/cleaning much more enjoyable.
just saw someone two years younger than me who looked at least twenty years older than me. so that's always an ego boost
A cold beer out of the bottle on a hot day. Bonus points if it’s one you used to love and haven’t had in ages (Victory Hop Devil tonight)
I heard Fontaines D.C. (not exactly unknown when they’re a Grammy nominated band now) on a season 4 episode of Atypical a few nights ago, can confirm that this is a super cool feeling
bugs weren't as bad this week as they have been but I expect they may ramp back up in August small victory but feels like a victory nonetheless
When you connect with something new from the entertainment world (book, song, album, tv show, movie, YouTube channel, etc.) think I said this before, but it still applies lol. I feel like for weeks I’ve been desperately searching for something to fill that “feel” or that space and it’s probably me looking at the past with rose-tinted glasses but I feel like it used to happen all the time (10-15 years ago in my teens and early 20’s) and now it rarely does. There have been songs and maybe a few albums that really did it over the last few years but it seems so much harder to come by. And not something that becomes a new addicting favorite you obsess over (although that can happen) but just something that perfectly fits your mood and life in that moment to carry along. Hard to explain.
I know exactly what you're talking about and those things tend to come less and less for me over the years, too. I don't know if it's age, maybe being less in touch with the cultural zeitgeist, or something else altogether but I think it makes me appreciate when I do actually hit on something new a lot more because of that
