I help out at a used bookstore and we also sell some used puzzles and apparently we test out of all the pieces are there by just putting them together so they asked if I wanted to take some home to put together you know for science and helping out and now I'm excited to do puzzles lol
I joined a book club today and had so much fun! I’m bummed I gotta wait 2 months for the next one but really looking forward to it! I have a really hard time trying new things bc of anxiety so I’m pretty proud of myself for going.
I'm proud of you too. my anxiety is downright debilitating these days so I find it highly commendable
I bought an Instax printer recently, and I have decided to make fake pets whose photos I will print and add to the big frame of employee pet photos that we have in the office. These are the first two.
Played two very fun shows this weekend, one with a band here in Chicago and one playing whooshy ambient shit in Minneapolis as part of a big ol show called Noise Party, the latter of which was easily a top 5 show experience. Also saw a friend I haven't seen in like 15 years while I was out there so that was a nice lil cherry on top.
on my hike the other day in Stinson beach. I love views like this. The ocean was so beautiful I wanted to park off the road and just sit there and admire the beauty, but I had a headache and just wanted to get home.
I know that representation matters in a lot of really big ways, but yesterday it mattered in a really small way I have to go to court a lot as part of my job. As part of that they have to address me formally with my last name and my last name is a Hispanic last name. The judge yesterday was Latina and there is just something so satisfying hearing a Latina judge say my last name with the appropriate accent that made me so giddy And that's not even going to the importance of representation for the big reasons why it is so important to have different perspectives and less bias and all of those things. This was just the smallest thing that made me feel so happy
I cleaned, polished, and changed the strings on my guitars today. First time putting flatwounds on my bass, weird at first but I just played for almost two hours.
Had to take a quick trip out of town today and we pulled off to get lunch at this random Mediterranean joint on a whim. It was genuinely some of the best I’ve ever eaten. It was so good it literally enhanced everyone’s mood and legit made the entire day better. It was that good. I hope that’s something I get to feel again
I lost an earbud on my walk at the park and when I drove back to look for it, this couple saw me and they had already found it. I was pumped
what are you growing?? Hoping to do a lot of basil, shishito peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, tomatillos this year
I am a lifelong Dodgers fan and always watched games growing up. When I moved to OC about 8 years ago for school, I kinda lost touch with baseball for a bit because I didn’t have a way to watch games. The last couple years, my mom’s been letting me steal her DirecTV account so I’ve been watching games more frequently again and I love it. I’ve now got my wife really invested in it too. Now watching Dodgers games together has become a thing for us. If there’s a game on, she gets excited and wants to watch a game with me. It makes me so happy. We’re also going to a game next month and I’m very excited about it.
