Ah, similar to the way I cross a task off my to-do list right before I start it.

Owning a house and being able to grill after years of living in apartments and not being able to

 

Grilling is the best, especially for other people

 

My apartment manager/maintenance actually responds and resolves requests and complaints within 24 hours and I've never lived somewhere that actually does that and it's so pleasantly surprising

 

all the amazing people I’ve met on this website

many of you have truly changed my life in such positive ways that I could never begin to fully express. I’m beyond grateful to have this community

A while back I got a child I work with a black girl magic book with like 100 different true stories of black folks who are prominent in their fields. I got it for her birthday because she's biracial being adopted by a white family and so we're always looking for ways to help her cultural connections and boost confidence and stuff. I never really heard about the book again but today someone connected to her was like "oh you got her that book? She reads it a lot. I was telling her I used to be a science teacher and she said she knew of a black scientist and ran up and brought the book down" and the way my heart has melted omg

Working on getting some friends together for our now-annual pizza boat outing and I'm just so dang excited about it

 

bouncing from work early today to drive to the coast for a first ever cousins only get together on my dads side of the family. Gonna be like 15 of us with no kids
