you would go to a trade show or a comic con type thing for your fellow lego enthusiasts, how would you find such a thing fuck if I know
Oh my god - card catalogs! Holy shit what a mind twist your post just sent me on lol. I think we’re around the same age so I know exactly what you mean. I remember in middle school there was a card catalog (think that was what it was called) where you’d search alphabetical cards or some shit to learn where in the library books containing that topic were kept or something like that. Oh my god and we needed to write research papers with the works cited page which is 65,000 times easier to do now a days. And now I’m thinking about all the people that made those cards and out all that info together!!!!!
Probably very true. And probably through magazines or newspapers or if they talked about it during that one hour when the news was on one of your 20 tv channels lol. Just mind blowing really how we used to do things. Along those lines I think there was a tweet in the Absurdist Twitter thread about how “we used to just mail out books to everyone that told you where everyone lived and how to contact them” and that’s hilarious and baffling to think of that happening today
What other LEGO sets peak your interest? I recently did the Super Mario 64 Question Block with my son and it was awesome
Stretching before bed. It feels so good. I do it several times a week but should rly do it nightly. There's something about that feeling of my muscles being a lil tired but relaxed afterwards and then immediately laying on a comfy bed under cozy blankets that's so calming
bought The Office set last night (got a smaller version for Christmas which I thought was the only one that existed) Others on my mind right now are: Friends Home Alone house Haunted house (only on Lego’s site I think) Giant castle (new and only on Lego’s site I think) And I not a big Star Wars fan, my interest in the franchise is basically “yes it exists, I’ve seen most of the films and know the name of most main characters if I saw a picture of them” but goddamn I would be lying if I said I didn’t have an interest in the giant Millennium Falcon or giant At-AT sets too.
I'm not as big of a Star Wars fan as I once was, but I tend to buy the Star Wars sets almost exclusively. The nostalgia just goes hand in hand. My wife got me the giant Super Nintendo console and TV Super Mario set for Christmas last year and it's so fucking cool. I really want that haunted house, too.
I believe the Castle you can also get from a Lego store but yes that Castle looks so cool! My co-worker just finished the giant like $800 Millennium Falcon. He went in 1/2 with his sister and they did it together
I've never used it, but there's a service called Netbricks (ha!) where you can rent Lego sets to build and then return.
