This is not a jab at all, but it's so funny to me how much he's grown I'm popularity among relatively normal people since leaving Cum Town lmao
Yeah I never heard of him until a few months ago and he’s hilarious. He’s coming to Pittsburgh next month.
yeah I took a nap and woke up at 8 pm hungover and kept getting more hungover until about midnight lol.
Im always way, WAY behind the times on things so offense taken! The fact I know of him before 2030 is a surprise in my book

I’ve been a fan of Rise Against since I got The Sufferer and the Witness when it came out. I saw them in concert for the first time on Thursday and oh boy was it an experience. The band put on an excellent performance, but between songs, Tim talked about how the band is all about revolutions. Revolutions can be about anything, big or small. He said if it has sexism, racism, xenophobia, it’s not a revolution. He said some other things to that effect and, while looking back on it it seems cliche, it did really speak to me. A reason to live is to see them again.
Seen then a few times 15+ years ago and they always kill it for sure. I was non political at that time so his speeches were lost on me but I get it now.
Hell yeah. Rise Against was the key to my political awakening as a teen haha. Walked into Warped Tour in 2003 and they were the first band on at 11:00am - hadn’t ever listened to them before but fell in love immediately. Hearing Tim scream “I have an American dream, but it involves black masks and gasoline” got me unbelievably fired up. Haven’t listened to them in years but it’s amazing that they’re still out there speaking up and inspiring
For me, it took a while to realize that all their songs were political in nature to begin with. Once I realized it the parts I picked up on I felt under the impression that I didn't really agree with anything he was saying but still loved the music despite that. Now that I've seen what's been going on in this country for the past 5-7 years, fuck all that thinking and teenage me. Chalk it up to living in podunk Texas for most of my life but that's not me today
I appreciate this very seriously, because I actually think about this concept a lot and have guilt for all of it. My wife can attest, I question regularly why am I so different from the rest of my family to think the way I do but they just can't, I feel extremely fortunate that I had the opportunity to leave at an impressionable age and never gone back other than to visit. I feel grateful for this community and group of Internet friends to help me along the way and hold me accountable and enlighten me.
