Top 2 live show I saw last year, and among the most seeing a band live has elevated my opinion of an album.

 

it's nice to buy a ticket for under $25 after fees for once

Oh nice. I was worried because they just announced a show at The Bishop in Bloomington and of course it’s the same night as Mannequin Pussy and Soul Glo at the Hifi.

 

I saw Julia tonight at Sleeping Village and she played five new songs and said they are recording their next album already. Also asked her straight up if they are playing Pitchfork Fest and said no they’ll be on tour on the West Coast then, which leads me to my next sentence. They are announcing another tour on Tuesday as the openers for a bigger band (I don’t know who it is though).

I recorded her entire set but for some reason there were soooo many talkers and also I don’t have the best hand stillness so it’s a little shaky but still probably worth the upload and share here, so I’ll do that when I get home or tomorrow.

 

Is it the guided by voices tour

 

I don’t think so because Guided by Voices are coming to Chicago already and Ratboys aren’t opening yet Julia said they’re opening a show in May so my guess is it’s a different band? Although that could just be a one off opening since they live in Chicago. Looks like we will find out on Tuesday though!

They are playing in Tucson July 19 with the Decemberists but also in Indianapolis with Guided by Voices the same day? What’s up with that?

 

I haven’t listened to the decemberists in forever but that’s huge for them

 

Hell yea much less bummed Ratboys skipped us on their tour now

 

I also have not listened to the Decemberists in forever but will try and get to that show if I can get off work in time.

 

haha yeah same, the announcement got me to go back and listen to the discog from the start to hazards of love. I used to love these guys but they just fell off for me personally after HOL.

Got the second pressing of this last week and it looks and sounds great

 

finally ordered a copy of this today !

 

I remember you saying album felt like every song went on too long and was only dece - interested to see if the live set elevates it as much for you as it did me. At this point I feel like No Way is the only one where that aspect borders on egregious

 

i said the same tonight in a different thread haha and still feel that way about the record but yeah seeing the songs live won me over, as i figured they would

vinyl cassettes and cds for pretty much everything, a hat, hoodie, couple of shirts … i think there was some other bigger ticket item but im drawing a blank
