New year and season coming soon and this is what they revealed during the Six Invitational yesterday. Really excited for a lot of these changes and the new operators look like lots of fun, even if they're not that unique. The arcade playlists have the potential for a lot of great modes too!

Also, the R6 Invitational was so so fucking good, they have all the matches on the rainbow six esports youtube. There were loads of great plays this year, I loved watching it.

Now that the new operators are on the TTS here’s my review of Year 4

Y4 was a mixed bag with a lot of growing pains. Overall I think it’s going to function more as a transition Year than anything, it definitely set the foundation for Y5 and Y6.

Operators: 8 new operators added to the roster, some game changers most of them are mixed at best. This year heavily favored the defenders imo. Here’s my thoughts on them ordered from favorite to least favorite.

Goyo: my new favorite operator. Love him to bits. Great guns, solid gadget, great design, just excellent.

Wamai: trailing just behind Goyo is this guy, having an AR on defense is so good and his gadget is a nice sidegrade to Jaeger. Love his design as well, Ubi knocked it out of the park with the operator designs this year.

Mozzie: another excellent addition to the defenders, Mozzies guns are very strong and the utility he brings by denying intel to attackers by hacking their drones is invaluable. Of all the newest operators he’s probably had the strongest impact on pro play and ranked. Love his design as well.

Gridlock: I generally play support when I play Siege and Gridlock has been one of my go-to supports for attack. Her LMG is strong, she has smoke grenades which is very nice, and her gadget can be great for bomb plants. Her biggest downfall is being 1 speed. Love her voice lines though.

Kali: the second sniper added to siege is a pretty good one, her gadget isn’t quite the game changer a lot of people thought it would be and she’s really map dependent but she can hold her own.

Nokk: Nokk and her compatriot Warden had a tough year but they’re starting to get some love and come into their own. Nokk has flashes of brilliance in her gameplay but her gadget is still too niche and her lack of any AR hurts her on attack.

Amaru: clumsy is the best word to describe Amaru. Sure she can rush an objective or get into areas faster than most other attackers but she makes so much noise and doesn’t really have the firepower to back it up.

Warden: poor Warden. He’s essentially gone through a mini rework since he launched and he’s in a better spot but he’s still one of the worst operators in the game. His weapons don’t do him any favors and his gadget, while better than it was, is still a little too niche to see any real use. A shame since I love his design and his voice lines.

the events we got were all a blast. As far as the whole “no new weapons” thing goes I hate to be a Ubisoft bootlicker but their reasoning for not adding more makes a lot of sense. We already have sooo many weapons, do we really need slight variations of the ones we rarely use anyway? Plus Ubi have said that legally they can’t use certain weapons due to the countries they are manufactured in. Plus it lets us use skins we’ve bought right out of the box on new operators.

I’m excited for Y5. Oryx and Iana have been fun to mess around with on the test server. I think Siege has a bright future

This is gonna be a huge update!!!! Notes: Operator sights are getting a big adjustment, ping 2.0 is introduced (can scan enemy traps and let team see on the map), map ban system, chalet rework, Thatcher nerf, new operator Zero. Reinforcements have also changed in the sense that while the team has ten reinforcements still, no one operator on the defending team is restricted to only two anymore. I love that so much. This means that Kaplan can go put his traps down and not worry about doing his reinforcements, another teammate can do his for him.

Also, some attackers are getting a new breaching device which destroys a reinforced hatch!! Big nerf to Hibana though
