Rainbow Six Siege is a tactical multiplayer shooter focusing on fast, coordinated matches between an Attacking and Defending team with various objectives such as escorting hostages, disarming bombs, defending sites, etc. The main features of Siege are The Operators, player characters that function very similarly to MOBA characters in that they have specific strengths, weaknesses, and special abilities/gadgets that allows for a diverse range of playstyles and counter-play opportunities, coupled with the series trademark realistic approach to FPS games with quick TTK and matches that last at most a few minutes. I just got this yesterday and I really really enjoy it, the hardest part so far has been trying to remember all of the different Operators and their loadouts but right now I'm only playing casual so its not a huge deal.
I should try Outbreak mode since I LOVE L4D and I'm really sad Valve has just kinda left that franchise to die I'm really enjoying this game. It's the most I've loved an FPS game in a long time. I'm a big fan of MOBAs and LoL in particular and this game is the closest thing to a FPS MOBA hybrid. I love the depth that all the Operators have, all of the meta intricacies and how well some synergize with others while there are niche Operators specifically designed to counter one particular, but devastating, ability of another. It's also really cool how much unique stuff they can mine from modern day military gadgets, all of the Operators have some type of unique visual flair and generally speaking have very unique gadgets and special abilities. I also really like the Drones and Camera system that gives dead players a chance to help their team still. Honestly the worst part so far has been the fucking kids that insist on yelling and/or singing into their microphone. I dont like muting people because communication is so important but for fucks sake shut up you arent funny youre annoying.
I love this game, i’m playing since Velvet Shell, and have circa 300+ hours in this game. R6 evolved so much since the start. I’m suprised that this thread just opened.
I really enjoy this - a few friends convinced me to pick it up a week or so ago and it's just been solid fun so far. A totally different experience from the other FPS games I play sort consistently (Overwatch, B1). Nothing like the R6 of old, either (I used to be obsessed with the N64 game, ahahaha)
Italian Operators for those that care, the two new Operators leaked. granted we're still about 2 months off from even getting them but they look cool and I'm guessing theyre both Defense to counter Finka and Lion both being Attack
I placed in Silver II for my ranked matches. I'm pretty proud of that since I've only had this game for like a week or so. if only i had that same luck with League Of Legends and Overwatch :(
You’ll get up there eventually, my rank has fluctoated a lot when I spent time away from it. Mostly a high gold/low platinum now tho. Once got top plat but never diamond :(
I've had this about 2 weeks now so here's some random thoughts: I really enjoy this style of FPS and I REALLY like how Ubisoft are just going to make this a long term service platform instead of rushing the next R6. The Operators are a great addition to the series and I love the melding of MOBA and Hero Shooter thats happened with their implementation. Even the "lower tier" Operators have a use and all of them can compete at some kind of competitive level. The community is a mixed bag. Oddly enough Ranked players are generally nicer and more patient, offering advice or doing a good job of calling out enemies or synergizing Operators. Casual players can be assholes, i cant count how many times ive been in a PSN party with @tucah @Dirty Sanchez @dadbolt @dylan @Anthony_ and im like "oh, the enemy team is killing each other" or "wtf my teammate just shot me for no reason aaaaaand im dead". im pretty shocked at how tame the microtransactions are. its pretty easy to get the "loot boxes", as a matter of fact the longer you go without getting one the more likely you will get one and you cant even buy them with real money. the "Elite Skins" are kinda pricy but theyre really unique, detailed skins with cool extra cosmetics thrown in like weapon charms and skins. i think generally speaking Attackers have the upper hand in almost every situation on every map. i totally get that its probably a nightmare balancing the two sides, all of the Operators, the weapons, and the maps, but it just seems like Attackers have so many options for penetrating a defense. ive learned from playing where all the Objectives can possibly spawn so its not worth wasting my drone to go find it, plus i know where all the cameras are and those are easy to take out which make the Defenders job even harder. i think thats playing a big part in why we're in this "Trap Meta" as it were the Defender Operators have to rely on traps and luck to really get that upper hand. i guess the counterpoint to this is that the Defense Operators have probably the best roster of the two sides. Mira, Bandit, Valkyrie, Jager, Ela, Rook, Mute, Smoke, Lesion, and Caveira can carry games by themselves if played well. i think my main Operators right now are Twitch on attack and Jager on defense. big fan of those two, very useful, cool designs, great gadgets, and really good weapons.
From what I've seen, the balance has shifted back into the attackers favour now, especially with the new operators recently released. Those two are amazing and I'm guessing a downright nightmare to try and play against a lot of the times. But yeah, community is definitely a mixed bag but most of the time they're tolerable, especially on console, PC seems a lot more insufferable because of text chat being a thing. Apparently the game has still got a lot of issues though in regards to hit reg and server issues which is a shame but not surprising because it's always plagued this game, especially from the beginning.
Finished my ranked placement games, got gold three even though my performance was questionable at best. Just had my best game since redownloading, got a nice 3vs1 clutch as Jäger too!
I know this thread hasn’t been talked about in a while but this was one of the best games I've ever played. Playing ranked on Coastline, my team were 3-0 down and two of our teammates quit and one of their team had disconnected. SOMEHOW we had managed to win this game 5-3 in the end, even though we still had a one person disadvantage and I couldn't have been happier with how I played, even managed to get the 4 person ace in the last round.
got R6S Standard on PC for $20. won't be playing that often, but it will be nice to from time to time.
Hey I'm assuming y'all ditched this for fortnite, but I just started this and am having fun lol ;-; I'm on PC tho so I wouldn't be able to play with y'all anyway lol
New season starts today. Gonna be a lot of changes gameplay wise, seems more balanced for defenders now but gonna have to wait and see. Casual is a mess for me rn on Xbox, every game or two I always seem to be going against mid-high plats and I have no idea why ugh, I'm only very low gold.
Oh no I still play it regularly. There’s a new update today with new Operators so I’ll be on today for sure but yeah we’re on PS4 :(
