Rage has got to be one of(if not THE) most influential bands of the past 30 years. I don't have the data to back it up but they made some special music in the 90s that so many bands have tried to appropriate with varying levels of success. Sure it's not the indie-rock or trap beats that we're saturated in but I believe without RATM the entire music scene would be in a different place altogether. Just my 0.02$. I wont ever be able to afford to see them live but they have more pull then almost any 90s band has to emptying the rest of the change out of my wallet.
I guess I was trigged by an article that said Nirvana was the most influential band of the past 30 years and I thought Rage deserved more recognition.
Crazy how the one time this band FINALLY decides to come back.....and it happens to be when a worldwide pandemic shuts everything down. Just the worst timing
This band will be swimming in money once they do start touring again, so should be no problem in them waiting
It's definitely a bummer that they weren't able to tour during the election year, they would have had a lot to say.
Yeah, my bank account is disappointed in me for buying a ticket to a show in a different state. I’m just sitting here waiting for summer 2021 now... haha
nirvana is infinitely more influential than rage. that doesn't mean rage isn't hugely influential and great lol.
I'm 99.999999999% sure they've had an album in the bag for a while; pandemic changed all plans. Hopefully we get it sometime this year
I'm kind of skeptical personally, the first reunion went on for several years without any new material. I would LOVE to be wrong though obviously! What makes you think they made an album if you don't mind me asking?
It feels like this latest reunion is a much bigger deal/effort (it was until the pandemic), and I feel like there's sooo many issues happening around the world right now for Zach to address lyrically, that to truly capitalize on this reunion an album to go along with it would really get their message out into the world in a new way, and would (I think) bring in a new generation of fans. The band's messaging is more important than ever, and I really hope we get fresh material to communicate that message
Yeah for sure. I kind of got the feeling too that this new reunion was going to be bigger than the first one... didn't want to get my hopes up too high but I do get what you mean.
I think there’s closer to a .01% chance than a 99.9% chance of a new album...there’s no way they’d be able to keep that under wraps
