And that's why you always leave a note.

    What a bummer.

Anyone know why? I can’t find anything about the reason. Makes me wonder if we will in fact see some sort of reunion some day, some how.

Kind of a confusing way of saying it. They haven't put out music since 2000. So if there's no reason to expect new music and they will no longer be touring, shouldn't it just say they are breaking up again?

I love Rage as much as the next but I feel the touring landscape is not set up for them with all they stand for and the type of change they want to make in the world. (technically, touring isn't set up for any band anymore... but that's a different story)

Honestly, I would rather see them bow out now with their legacy than see them embark on another sponsored by ticketmaster tour with $800+ tickets in arenas sponsored by banks. That's not them. I will spin their records tonight:rock:

I remember when they had a bitch fit about Limp Bizkit.

Caught them on their most recent run. Felt weird, for all the reasons above.

I’m not sad. Not yet. I’m glad I was alive to hear them at their peak (and now) and be inspired by their message. As an almost 40 (!) year old dude, I got The Battle of Los Angeles at a formative age. Reading the lyrics and the books mentioned in those lyrics formed a lot of who I am. It’s why I still love this scene and what bands in this scene support - and rage against. It’s how I’m raising my kids. And if or when they wanna mosh to Killing In The Name or Guerilla Radio, I’ll support the hell out of it.

Modern music isn’t built for a band like them. Maybe it never was. But I’m thankful all the same.

It's also worth taking into consideration that not only did Zach get decently injured on the last tour, but Tim is fighting prostrate cancer, so they have some real life things that are probably getting in the way. I'll miss them though, but I share a similar sentiment from above that they havent put out anything new in 20 years so.... whatever. I saw them in 2000 at the Summit in Houston before Joel Osteen bought it and turned it into a money church.

I got to see them in Toronto on their most recent tour, and even with Zach sitting down due to his injury, it was one of the best and most electric shows I’ve ever seen.

I entirely disagree that them playing arenas / Ticketmaster / Live Nation venues makes them “part of the machine” lol I do not think that opinions on the live concert industry was / is part of their collective message hahaha

and no matter what a bands ethos is, once you get so big, you NEED to play those venues in order to maintain and grow the economy that surrounds the band

Yeah I mean a band at their level isn't going to be playing small venues anymore, they'd just have a lot of pissed off fans. What I don't agree with though is them working with Ticketmaster who is known for their shady practices on raising ticket prices for no reason at all other than demand.

where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

it'd be much worse for fans if they played independent venues.

i also feel like i heard of them doing some kind of charity work for each city during the most recent tour

Full disclosure: I work for Ticketmaster. We dont sponsor tours. The Artist's tour manager or promoter decides what the ticket prices should be based on market, venue, demand, etc. I was fortunate to see RATM at MSG last year before they canceled the remainder of the tour. I paid $125/ticket for 100-level seats. Worth every penny. I would've paid 2x.
