  1. Pablo Honey is the only placement that seems really wild. Glad you're enjoying your trip through the discography!

Yeah I figured haha. I know it's not really the sound that people go to them for but I'm a sucker for that kind of sound too and I think they were good at it

TKOL had a relatively cool reception when it came out but then they did this studio session of it all and it does a really good job showcasing how intricate and layered a lot of the songs are, despite sounding pretty minimalistic on the album

Ooh yeah, from what I can tell the next thing I really need to dive into is their live performances, both stuff like this and actual shows, I got the impression just from my research that seeing them play their stuff live really transforms and evolves the material. I'll check this out, and any more that anyone would be kind enough to mention too

cant tell if you did or not but dont sleep on Thoms last 3 albums, TMB, Anima, and the Suspiria soundtrack. they are all brilliant. Anima could have been a follow up to Kid A and Amnesiac.

also, Jonny Greenwood became a brilliant orchestral artist on his own too. he basically catapulted himself into the postmodern classical pantheon with the likes of Messiaen and Reich. his scores for There Will Be Blood and the Master are all timers.

make sure to check out the EOB record! it’s honestly closer to radioheads sound than the solo Thom stuff

I did listen to TMB and Amina but not the Suspira album, I actually figured that was all instrumental/score which I'm not usually into but now I'm seeing it has some actual songs on it

And thanks for all the suggestions everyone!

Those 10 days from announcement to release was probably the most excited for anything I’ve ever been in my entire life

Was in college and recall totally not believing it when somebody told me out of the blue that new RH was dropping in 10 days.

Goddamn, what a year for music that was... possibly my favorite ever.

I have spent the past week listening to this band for the first time in my life, and I’m pretty shocked to see king of limbs is ranked so low for long time fans. Maybe it’s easier to enjoy since I didn’t have to wait four years for it after they released their best album imo. Good band imo

  24. The King of Limbs is a wonderful album - welcome!

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

The King of Limbs is top 3 for me. might be even higher if you put "The Butcher" and "Staircase" on there somewhere
